Alot of issues with the slides on Nytros, they seem to burn away pretty fast. Bad plastic, too small wheels.....are some of the of the causes. Many have installed bigger idler wheels and different slides, also ditching the tip up helps.
I went with straight Iceage rails, polaris slides and icescrathers. Works good now.

i have 800 miles on mine and they are about 50%. we rode a trail for about 40 miles at 75 mph with the scratchers down and couldn't even smell sliders.

I took off my scratchers and replaced them with 3 extra pair of idlers on each of my 162 SE's. 1,500 miles of trail / off trail / plowed road riding this past season and the slides look great, probably 80% left if not a bit more. I was totally supprised as I was inticipating the worst with the taller track. In fact with the extra idlers I would say it wore less than my past sleds with a 136" x 1.25" track. Something to think about if you are having troble with slides. I would think a Western rider who doesnt see much trail could go way way more on a pair of slides than I can here out East.

I too have gone through at least 3 sets of hyfaxes in the past 2 seasons and prior to changing out my suspension I had no issues. I got 1030+ miles on my original hyfaxes. We have found that the tension of the track (not as tight) has made a difference, but also we put on the graphite hyfaxes and they have held up better than the normal plastic ones.

I just ordered a new Hyfax for my sled and thought they were all the one length and had to cut them down. Anyhow they are too short so if anyone needs a brand new set I would like to sell. They were $54.76 each USD Yamaha Part 8HA-47421-00-00. I will sell the set for $80.00 delivered.

That is pretty normal wear on a stock yami. put some scratchers on or more wheels and it will help. My first set lasted 4 or 500 miles. I think I paid 35 bucks for the set when I replaced them.
