Can anyone give me "real world #'s" on fuel mileage with a programmer for a ford v-10 or any other gas motor ? I don't want to sound like a dick but I don't want "well my buddy" type answer's I want #'s not percentage's!
Can't speak for the Fords, but I can speak for almost all of GM's gasoline motors they've put in pickups for the last 10 years.
2000 5.3L 1500 auto, 3.73 gears, 265/75/16 tires: 14 around town, 17-19 highway.
2003 6.0L Escalade auto, not sure in gears, 265/70/17 tires ... 12 around town, 17 highway.
2005 8.1L 2500HD auto, 3.73 gears, 265/75/16 tires ... 10 around town, 15 highway.
2008 6.0L 1500 auto (Vortec Max, DoD version), 3.73 gears, 265/70/17 tires .... 14 around town, 18-20 on the highway.
2008 6.0L 2500HD auto (6 spd), 4.10 gears, 245/75/16 tires ... 12 around town, 16 highway.
All vehicles listed above have had extensive records kept (yes, I'm not kidding) on costs. The miledge numbers I've listed above are real-world averages, not a bunch of made up ****. The quoted Escalade with the 6.0L and the 2008 1500 Vortec Max are vehicles my had ... Like I said, extensive records were kept on both vehicles. And again, I'm not BS'ing about that .See link at end of post ....
Some food for thought ... the 2000 5.3L 1/2 ton I had before my 2005 8.1L 3/4 ton ... I got 9 mpg pulling my small 2 place enclosed snowmobiles trailer with the 5.3L, and it would BARLEY pull the thing up long hills faster than 30 mph .....
With my 2005 8.1L 2500HD, I get ... shockingly .... 9-10 mpg towing the
exact same trailer and it's not even funny how much better it pulls.
With that said, if I latch onto my dad's 24' enclosed (mine is 16') with the 8.1L, I
still get 9 mpg towing, and that trailer with 3 sleds in it probably weighs 1,500-lbs more than my 16' does with two sleds in it.
Also, it should be noted that between the 2008 2500HD 6.0L and the 2005 8.1L, I have
never observed a significant improvement in miledge between the 6.0L and the 8.1L ... for all practical purposes, they get virtually the same miledge. I will say, the 6.0L does get
slightly better miledge overall than the 8.1L, but the 8.1L more than makes up for it with towing abillity. I'm pretty upset that GM is no longer putting the 8.1L in the 3/4 ton and 1-ton trucks.
Here's a spreadsheet I wrote a long time ago to keep track of vehicle costs:

That was my 2000 silverado's first 16,000 miles
here's a blank template
