I'm planing on a kmod skid and Powerclaw track but looking for best weight loss for the money across the board. hoping to drop 30-40lbs. But not sure whats available.

Assuming you have a '17-'20 or a '21 SummitX, the stock can is like16#, so that's an obvious choice. The new hood (Expert or Turbo) is also way lighter than the regular/previous hood, with probably 10# there if not more.

From there, the $/lbs goes way up. Smaller seat? The new, lighter Fox shocks? Headlight delete/Skinz hood?

Diamond s can -12lbs
Skinz hood was -12ish on my 17, no headlight though.
Carbon suspension-15 to 17 lbs.. after that there is not much you can do unless electric start and go lithium battery.

IMO, doing a Diamond S Can and Mesh hood is the BEST bang for your buck. 1000ish for 25+ lb weight savings.

The only con is no headlight.... but not a big deal with helmet lights.

Pros....25lb weight savings. Breathes SOOOO much better! Almost no heat.

I was planning on ds can
is there any real savings in pipe. and is there a pipe worth trusting

how many hood options are there?
Previously, Skinz was the only game in town. But if they haven't already, I'm sure they BRP will be offering retrofit kits for the new, lightweight hoods used on the '21 models.

I saw a diamond s mesh hood but cant find one for sale anywhere. The brp is still to heavy for what I want

Have you checked out fourwerx. I really like my carbon hood from them on my rmk. I believe have gen 4 stuff also.

They have very little info, like weight. ?? Kind of the whole point. Why wouldnt they post it.
I dont know why they dont list weight. It might be worth giving them a call though. Im really happy with my hood and it only weighed 2 pounds.

I just finished installing the skinz hood on a '20 expert. First off, huge weight savings from the factory hood. Secondly, it was not a simple bolt and go situation.....or I may be to meticulous with my work. After spending about 15 hours doing the necessary steps, along side my own correction to get the fitment as close to perfect as I could, I am happy with it thus far. I have not been on the snow yet, to test though.

Skinz hood and side panels are definitely the way to go, with that, a can and a powerclaw I'm down almost 40 pounds from factory and sled feels great!

I have a Skins hood and air box for sale, air box has hose attached ( its a pain to get it on good ) and the SLP powder vent installed in the air box also..... all is in new condition..
$400 + shipping

Thanks

The powerclaw 162 x 3" track weights about 6 lbs. More then the stock 165x 3" doo track.

The older one with the fingers yes but the newer ones without the fingers are about 5 pounds lighter

The powerclaw works so much better the weight there is not relevant to me.

that conquer doesn't work very well compared to the PC

Anyone know the actual weight of a skinz hood. I've heard a lot of bad about the helium hood so not sure I want to go that route.
Diamond S says a mesh hood weighs 6lbs and stock is 17.2lbs. I trust DS 100% and will be getting a can from them.
Somewhere I saw skinz claims 15lb weight loss, in typical skinz fassion you cant believe much of anything so I'm just wondering.
also the mountain fit hood is coming in around a 10lb loss at half the money. Also trusted
