I need a new track.
Is this the same design as a series 8, just larger lugs? Anyone use one yet?
I want more durability than the series 8 offers.

It is the same as the series 8 with larger lugs, they say. They also say, it won't fit in any chassis prior to 2024 unless you grind out the heat exchanger. Durability is unknown except it is 6 lbs heavier for the 155 so some of the extra weight could mean it is beefed up a bit.

Looks like it is the real deal:

Today I talked to a Polaris dealer about this track. They wouldn’t recommend it for PNW type snow, especially if I was wanting better durability. What I’m thinking is the varying snow conditions day to day and sometimes parking areas to riding areas. It’s probably not happy in hard snow. They said I’d tear it up.
Not the greatest of reviews.

Where people "tear" up these 3" tracks is hauling ass down the trail. I've had 3 seasons with a 3" track in Sierra powder and cement and it flat out performs. Track looks great, no missing or torn lugs. I take it easy back to the truck though.

I’ve had 3” tracks the last several years on a cat and it didn’t matter what I did to that thing. High speed groom, late season low snow. Just didn’t have problems with it.

The new skidoo freeride track will be you best option. Lighter then the Polaris 3.25, and has a better design. The polaris 3" is the worst track in the industry, now they add 1/4" and its the best track ever ... stop believing what all the ambassadors are told to tell you....

The 154 part#-504154686, 165 part# 504154684

It's definatly not the same as the 3" track. Not the same pitch, durometer, lug height etc.

I might resemble this comment 😉
I’ve got a 3.25” on order. No idea on longevity/ durability yet until I put 500-1000 miles on it.

⬆️⬆️⬆️ Exactly. It is not related to Series 7 track— other than paddle pattern.

I have a 24 boost with the 2.75 and a 23 boost with the new ski doo track. My friend has a 24 boost with the new 3.25 track. I was able to ride all 3 back to back to back the other day. In our central Utah snow, on this day, I liked the 3.25 best. It really jumped out of the snow and propelled you forward. The ski doo track was a close second and the 2.75 was definitely a fair amount behind. It spins a lot more before it starts propelling you forward. All 3 sleds are 165 khaos boost

I've always only run 35 to 40. I've alway guessed that was the extra ingredient when people were having track problems.
Not saying you are wrong… I’ve watched lugs get thrown on the trail, but personally haven’t lost one on the trail in 15yrs of riding, and I’m not one to waste any time getting to and from the goods. I always run scratchers. Been running 3” tracks since 2013.

325 is a great track. Still slightly on the soft side. Between it and a doo track I’d give maybe a 5-10% advantage too doo. It’s just stiffer and better layout. No reason to go from a 325 to doo track tho.

I had a chance to “watch” 300lx on 165 turbo and 325 9r 155 perform in very very deep snow over the weekend. Both went the same places, the 325 definitely popped up better, even being a 155. I was on a 155 with 275 and the 325 was far superior. The 50 cc’s weren’t making the big difference. The 300lx trenched more but it could also be it was on a turbo.

I guess I should say I don’t think high speeds on the trail are the issue… the issue is high speed and HEAT. Pretty easy to avoid if you have scratchers and the trail isn’t pure ice.

I’m in the minority here… I’m not convinced the 300 LX is a great track, especially if there isn’t a good base for it to grab. In early season snow it seemed to struggle to get going/pop up in comparison to the 325 and 3” powerclaw.

The 300lx definitely hunts for something to grab.
