Any rumors of an Impulse low boost kit?

I'm thinking I'll probably get a low boost setup for next season. Since I'm in SLC I'd like to keep it local and go with Impulse. Has anyone heard if he's working on a low boost kit?

I asked Paul a while back and he said he is not sure. If you want a low boost Impulse, just buy the normal kit and do not install the headshim and save it for later because you will want higher boost down the road, everyone does. The low boost kits are going for like 4500, for not much more $ you get a whole lot more if you know what I am saying. When I installed my Impulse over 2 years ago I told Paul I was just going to install the kit and not the headshim, that I did not need that much power. When I had my sled apart I just decided to install the shim anyway and have never looked back.

I get what you're saying but that 2 grand difference in price is kind of a big deal and I really think that 180hp would be plenty for me. Call me a ***** but having an extra 60 - 70 hp I think would be more than enough to really make this sled perfect.

Sell me aan Apex kit with 6-8 lbs of boost with no head shim and NO intercooler, the stand alone set up and we'll run 100LL all day long in Alaska! I know 4 people who would buy this kit right now complete with guages for 5000.00! Come on Impulse put together the average family mans kit :D

- the shim, - the intercooler and a smaller turbo. + stand alone and gauges. i dont think it would be affordable to sell that kind of kit for 5000

seems quite reasonable to me......let's see

6700.00 for the Nytro kit with stand alone. (take off the intercooler, the fuel pump and injectors, the head shim,no surge tank smaller turbo and I'm sure some other expenses for the budget kit) You don't think this is doable for 5000.00....maybe 5500.00 but that should be more then doable! If MCX can do a low boost kit on the Nytro for 4800.00 US and Ulmer for 4500.00 with guages then a stand alone for 5000.00 should be achievable....max of 5200.00 with guages. The economy isn't gonna get better in the next several years......affordable get's you in the door and addicted.....someone is gonna build this you just wait and see....it's to be expected with the trends currently.

I think if enough people show a level of interest to him, Paul's the type of guy that would build you guys something like that.

Ulmers suppose to have a stand alone in the works!! my guess is around 5500 with stand alone.. 8-10lbs boost and a bit more with fuel... perfect boondocking sled.. Ulmer also includes new fuel tank.. Plus "bolt on install".. Will be going with Ulmers kit in summer.. but if Impulse builds a low boost kit under 5500 with a 10 gallon tank.. and the 8-10lbs mid mount adj boost (not five lbs and rear mount!!!) I will have another option for sure.. but currently Ulmer!!
