2010 M8 Sno Pro with Pump Gas Turbo 225 HP.
Chassis: It started with a 153x2.25 track but it now has a 162x2.6 Power Claw sliding on Arctic cat 162 rails. Otherwise it's a stock chassis.
Engine: Stock Arctic Cat H.O. 800 motor. Push Turbo Throttle Body Before Turbo kit. Say what you will about Push Turbo's customer service but they make high quality turbo kits. It has a 28-73 Garrett ball bearing turbo with a HTA compressor wheel and Tial external waste gate. This kit was put on the sled last year and new pistons were put in the engine at the time of installation.
Electonics/Fuel System: Stock fuel pump and injectors with an added secondary injector in the charge tube. Vi-pec ECU with an added Intake Air Temp sensor in the charge tube to change fuel maps based on the temperature of the compressed air.

2012 M8 Sno Pro 162 230HP.
Chassis: This sled started as a stock 2012 but significant changes have been made since then. The rear skid was moved back and down (similar to what cat did in 2014) and then an OVS adjustable wheelie stop bar was added. Next it got the 7 tooth drivers and a 162x3 Powerclaw track. Up front the 2016 A-arms, spindles, and skis were grafted on.
Engine: Stock 2012 800 motor with a Blow Turbo M8 kit. This kit is very similar to the Push kit with the throttle body before the turbo but it is made by the Canadian company Blow Turbo. It uses a plenum chamber instead of a "Y" pipe for the intake which makes it very consistent.
Electonics/Fuel System: Stock fuel pump and injectors with an added secondary injector in the charge tube. A Vi-pec ECU controls the fuel, ignition, and boost. When you are at low elevation (2000 ft.) the ECU keeps the boost level down to 6.5 PSI and as you go up in elevation it adds more boost (8.5 PSI at 10,000 ft.). This means that it makes the same horsepower at low elevation as it does at high elevation so you can ride anywhere and never have to change clutching. It also has a Launch Control system. This means you hold the brake lever for 3 seconds and then while holding the brake you open the throttle all the way. The ECU retards timing to keep the motor at just below clutch engagement. The retarded timing burns the fuel in the exhaust pipe instead of the engine causing the turbo to spool up and the pipe to be at operating temperature when you release the brake and launch the sled. This is Jeff's personal sled and is extremely dialed in.

2013 M8 Sno Pro LTD 162 with Push Turbo, pump gas, 230 hp.
Chassis: Stock chassis with 162 2.6 Power Claw track, OVS adjustable wheelie stop, and C3 belt drive.
Engine: Stock Arctic Cat 800 H.O. motor. Push Turbo Throttle Body Before Turbo kit. Say what you will about Push Turbo's customer service but they make high quality turbo kits. 28-73 Garrett ball bearing turbo with HTA compressor wheel and Tial external wastegate.
Electonics/Fuel System: Stock fuel pump and injectors with a secondary injector in the charge tube. A Vi-pec ECU takes care of the fuel, ignition and boost levels. Just like with the Blow Turbo kit above the boost levels change as you go up in elevation which means you never have to change clutching.
It also has a Thunder Products 911 clutch cover that reduces belt heat, increases clutch efficiency and allows belt clearance adjustment. This sled is insanely dialed in and is a pump gas pull the rope and ride monster.

Vi-pec ECU's are the pinnacle of EFI control with the ability for us to write maps for ignition and fuel based on any sensor available. With our tune in these ECU's and with these turbo kits and their throttle body positioned before the turbo the throttle response is instantaneous. All of these sleds are built, clutched, and tuned by us here at Dakota Performance and our customer service doesn't stop after you drive away with one of these snowmobiles. We provide parts and technical help over the phone, on-line, or in person for anyone who buys our turbo sleds.
