So I recently picked up a new to me 2023 Pro RMK 850. Sled is a 165 2.75. I ride interior BC. 5000-7000 mostly. Most of the time 6000 to 6500.
Sled came with a clutch kit installed. Was told it’s an Altitude power sports clutch kit.

Adjustable weights weighing 68grams empty Polaris Almond spring and a Team Tied clutch. Black red spring with a 64-50 .36 / 66-52 .36 helix. Set on the 64-50 .36 helix.

Took it out for a rip and was way over revving. Easily hit 8700. Figured buddy I bought it from must of been riding higher elevation.

Girlfriend was out on her 22 850 155 2.75. Hopped on it and noticed she was only hitting 8050. We have a SLP set up in that sled. Magnum Force weights with Pink Blue spring. I took some weight out of hers and put some more into mine for the next ride.

Next ride hers is right where I wanted it. Hitting 8250 and dropping to 8200 to 8150. Feeling really consistent and responsive.

Mine was still over revving, add more weight. Still lowest I saw was around 8400. My primary weights must be at 75g by now. Way heavier than anything else I have put into an 850, owned 2 others before these 2.

Also noticed a little stumble in mine on on off throttle in the mid range. Just cruising around in the mid range on off throttle, hammer it and it just hesitates for a second. From nothing hammer on it and it lights up and goes to max rpm without missing a beat.

Trying to figure out what to do next, seems to me the calibration on the secondary is probably off. Never needed that kind of weight in the primary and still way over revving. Sled feels fairly responsive. On the bottom but has that stumble. Not looking to back to stock clutching as I feel it’s lazy off the bottom end.

Anyone have any recommendations for the Tied?

It would be helpful if you list the mileage of your sled and ask your friend if he ever had the clutches rebuilt. Are you using a new belt also? If not, you should as it will make a huge difference.

899km and a brand new belt. Had both clutches apart after I bought it and cleaned and inspected them. No obvious issues with rollers or sloppiness in any parts. I’m looking for tuning advice for the Team Tied on a Patriot 850, do you have any experience with it?

I managed to find Ben’s info. Basically someone had made their own clutch kit combo. Wrong springs and Helix. Tuning weights were all wrong in the primary. Not surprised it wasn’t working right.

He was super helpful. Told me what to do to get it working better. Never tried to up sell me anything.

Going to order the right spring helix combo from him when he gets them back in stock.

That helix sounds way too conservative. I used to run a 75-59-.46 with a 140-200 spring in my old 800 Axys 155". But it was at a lower elevation. So i'd say you could run that helix but get a 140-220 spring instead.
