Recoil starter blow up!! Help!

Hi.
can somebody tell me what has happened here? (pic)
Mounted a brand new recoil starter today, and after a short ride it looked like this.

what do i do?

 

[RACINSTATION]

Starter came apart internally. You need to pull the starter and carefully inspect the flywheel and the stator. I have seen something like this take the stator out several times.

We have a pile of recoil assemblies on hand at a good price if you need parts.
