Really stiff throttle

Was test riding my new to sled and has a very hard throttle. Like my thumb hurts 5 minutes after riding it just around the farm. It’s easily 4x5 harder then my dads 2011 summit, 2011 m800 and easily 2 to 3 as hard as my alpha. What would be going on here

At this rate, I pretty much replace the cable every year during pre season maintenance. Depending on miles and condition. Seems like they crack, rust, or kink in a season's worth of use. Cheap insurance to keep em from sticking in a less-than-ideal time

Do you store them outside?
I’ve got one sled that’s needed a cable replaced from snagging on a tree.
A 15 with 5600 miles no throttle cable issues.
Yes, I’ve displaced water and rust with lube a few times.

I store them inside yeah. They stay out sometimes on trips, etc. The sleds get ~1300 miles per season. Seems like they get some corrosion or a kink by then

I've got an '18 and a '19. The '18 is the backup and gf sled these days so I don't ride it much anymore. But last season I took it to Cooke and realized how much easier it pulls than the '19. Ordered a new cable after that trip and the '19 is oh so smooth and easy to pull now.

Hmmm, I’ve never thought my ‘20 throttle pull was bad, but it’s got some kinks and splits in the outer sheath of the cable so I’ve had a spare hanging in the trailer for years now. Maybe I should swap it out and see if I’m missing something.
