Would an 03 edge 144 skid fit under an 01 genII chassis (bolt on, no modification)? What are the advantages/dis-advantages of a finger track (same application)? Thanks much!!

The front arm on the edge suspension is longer than the Gen II so you will need to redrill both mounting locations. Take measurements off an edge machine. Start by measuring from the drive shaft back to the front mounting hole and then between mounting holes. Use those measurements on the Gen II and you will be good to go.
Not sure on the finger track, depends on snow conditions.

Right about the rear skid, i have done it on many sleds. A finger track works great on hard pack snow but sucks in powder. Definatly not worth runnin all year but if your lookin to get every little bit out of your sled all year switch tracks in the spring and you will love it. I know alot of guys that do that
