Matryx boost fuel pump

My boost had fuel pump wine on the first 2 rides (about 50mi total)... Low snow / warm temps.

Last 2 rides (about another 40mi)... Better snow / colder temps... No wine at all, not even slightly.

My RMK started having a squeeling noisy fuel pump on day 5, ~350km.

On day 12 I had my first limp mode plus code for low fuel pressure power cut. It would cut power when I tried to do big, long pulls at full throttle (like climbing up Boulder's Turbo hill).

On day 15, 1000km, it became unrideable. I could only go full throttle for about 1-2 seconds before it would go into limp mode.

Now it's going into the dealer for service and I'm bringing out the backup sled to finish the trip.

Mine was similar, day 2 started whining, day 3 started going into limp mode every time hit full throttle, day 4 every blip of throttle over about 1/2 throttle would go into limp mode.Took to the shop, they checked all of Polaris recommendations, went out and still the same. Decided to try springs in socks. Went out yesterday rode 70 miles, ran perfect, not even any whine, wide open as long as I could hold it, no limp mode. Snow conditions and weather were similar to last weekend's ride. Seems to be fixed.

Based on this thread, replacing the strainer sock sounds like a good preventative measure.

Polaris has an updated part number for the fuel pickup socks. Makes Me think that is going to be part of the fix. But everyone I have talked to says you can’t get them.

They’re probably swapping them out as fast as they can. Probably replacing the ones on no drivable as a priority first.

That should be the case but not happening on my snowmobile. The dealer said they don’t know when they will be able to get them. I tried every parts dealer online and they say unavailable too

Just found out that my new fuel pump is in. When I talked to the mechanic about whether it's the same as I have, he said socks are completely different.

That’s encouraging news. The mechanic at the dealer I had put springs In, said that he couldn’t get me a new fuel pump until April. I don’t think he ordered it yet. I did order socks and a pump from quantam fuel systems. If the springs in the stock system don’t work, I’m going to try that.

My shop told me fuel pump would not be here until March. Surprised when it showed up yesterday

If possible, you should see if the dealer will send you a picture of the new fuel pump and socks. I have not seen a picture of how they changed. I’m curious if they used a more course material to let more gas into the sock.

Will do. Today they put the socks from my new fuel pump on a boost that was having problems and are up riding right now.

That’s rough, should get your pump installed before they loan out the parts. Unless you approved of it.

Oh no I approved of it, I want to know that they work before putting in mine now that it runs well with the springs

I’m interested to hear as well. The springs in the socks did not fix my issues either. Almost seems to be worse. Tested it with a half tank and 10 minutes into the ride it throws the code On the first hill. Next step, test the quantum fuels products.

Seems to work for some and not others. You have to assume the ones that keep whining were already too damaged. Mine only made noise for less than an hour and the spring trick has worked so far. How long did you have issues before you worked on it?

Here's a picture of new and old socks. Doesn't look different in picture but supposedly bigger holes and stiffer material according to what I was told.

Seems to work for some and not others. You have to assume the ones that keep whining were already too damaged. Mine only made noise for less than an hour and the spring trick has worked so far. How long did you have issues before you worked on it?

Mine has had fuel pump whine since 50 miles. Put springs in at 385 miles and it doesn't whine at all now and ran perfect last time out for all 70 miles

Also since 100 miles would go into limp mode with anything more than 1/2 throttle, but only after about 30 miles into a ride.
