* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 10
inches, except up to 16 inches on ridge tops and elevations
above passes.
* WHERE...Centennial Mountains-Island Park.
* WHEN...From 3 AM Tuesday to 3 PM MDT Wednesday.

How’s the snow conditions ? A few of us from up north are thinking about coming down to ride. It’s a 12 hour drive so we kinda wanna make sure it’s good snow.

Ended up making a very long loop around IP and West yesterday with 4 guys from Michigan.
Gave me a very good chance to look at the snow all around.
in general, the last winter storm dropped.
3" down low
3-6" up high on all exposed areas
6-9" in protected areas.
That said, we often found a foot or more of soft fresh snow in the trees in many different places.
Best case was about 18" in the most wind protected zones.
Next new snow is due around the 22nd and does not look to be a major dump yet (but thats a long ways out for a weather forecast)

Its a LOOONG ways out yet, but here is the FIRST SPRING STORM.
this is pushing the model as far out as I can, so I have only MARGINAL confidence in it.
Sadly, Our Spring Snow storms seem to be petering out a bit.
Looks like it might have shifted North. Big Sky snow chances have increased for this weekend
