You don't have many coyotes or foxes in your area?

We had pheasants around here when I was a kid, but not sure that I have seen one in 35 yrs.
We even had Pheasants Forever planting feed strips for them on my G-Dad's farm during that time.

We have LOTS more wildlife around here these days, but fox have seemed to have declined considerably from the 80's around here.
Could be from over hunting back then? Or maybe it is from pressure of the coyotes that have moved in since then.

It's the coyotes.
Damned things have decimated our fox & Jack rabbit population too.

I need to travel for hunting pheasants. My wife also hunts and we are retired,so we do pheasant hunting vacations.

Those photos are from NE Montana. I’ve been hunting in the Dakotas for nearly 40 year. Just something about chasing wild pheasants. They are a very smart bird and don’t take long for them to know it’s hunting season.

Well, we sure have a LOT more coon that we had during the early 80's when prices were up!

I'd say that skunks are likely not as plentiful as they had been, but .. for some reason, I'm not crying about that so much.
???

New addition to the family. My son brought home a new puppy yesterday. It's been a few years since we've had a pup and we've never had a black lab before just yellows and a short hair and a few mutts. So far TJ doesn't mind the little one. 20231113_122810.jpg20231113_122238.jpg20231113_122123.jpg20231113_122001.jpg
