Arctic Cat Synthetic APV oil

Just paid $44.00 for one (1) gallon of Arctic Cat Synthetic APV 2 stroke motor oil. No, I was not at a resort or any place exotic - Twin Cities area / local dealer.

Come on Arctic Cat, $44.00 for a gallon of oil …

And you know what else … The current gallon container design pretty much prevents your snowmobiling customer from adding oil to their sled without having your liquid gold spilling all over the place. For $44 a gallon, maybe you can add an “easy pour” feature to the container design and change or get rid of the “user friendly”, silver seal the current gallon container has on it.

No wait, I just switched to AMSOIL @ over $10 less per gallon.

I run the Amsoil. Lots cheaper and I think it works better to. I tore my 900 apart to weld my crank and it looked brand new.:D

I dont know what everyone elses experience with royal purple is but in these parts RP has a VERY bad reputation outside the industrial market. They make great barrier fluid for mechanical seals but their oil has proven to be very poor quality in many two and four stroke applications.

Easy pour = funnel. LOL.
Did you guys see the new 10L or whatever the new size is of APV oil? I'm going for those next year.

i think you're gettin screwed. I don't pay any more than $32 per gallon for the apv and last year i was buying amsoil for $25 per gallon. and that is from the local dealer

That's to bad, I was thinking of changing, but also hear alot of bad about amsoil.

What do you mean by alot of bad about amsoil? Over years I have been using AMSOIL so do other sledders I ride with or know of other AMSOIL customers and have heard only one or two bad things but that is it however when you using the word " alot " I simply think you are exggravating. That comes from my actual experience that AMSOIL is very good product. But I will not twist other people's arms into using AMSOIL products, that is personal preference and experiences but I hate when people exggravates something because bad reputable company would be out of business real LONG TIME AGO but AMSOIL? They have been in business for almost 40 years Come on!

I wish I only had to pay $44 a gallon. Im paying $63 a gallon. I use a flexible spout from an old Polaris oil bottle.

i run yamalube 2s in all my sleds, since i clean my powervalves every year. $15 a gallon, don't let them tell you you can't run this in your sled. i have an 02 800 mc that has almost 10,000 miles and has never run anything but yamalube.

Yamalube 2S is alright for a stock motor. More HP = more heat and stress. Will not work on high HP motors. In a psi 925 that oil works for about 6 miles before the crank seizes. Amsoil Dominator works well so does Redline. If you get set up with a commercial account at Amsoil you can buy it for the dealer price, just cannot resell. Saves me alot of money, cost me with shipping delivered to my door about 23$ a gallon if bought in a case of four gallons.

oil monger bbaassttaarrddss

Picked up leftover m7 from dealer and he had apv on sale 40% off -

Goes to show me if they can knock 40% off they are making at least

that on sales.I picked up 12 gallons and should have gotten drum for that

price. I know dealers have to make it somewhere and I want to say

that 3 and change for go juice is no bargain either so I wana play

so I gotta pay - Big business has us by the short hairs - Time for a

revolution. Back in the day we would have had a frikin tea party

and tar and feathered some of the son of a ceo's but now a days

we would be terrorists. Ok I will quit..

Most of the guys I have spoken with around this area are recommending Torco SSO. I'm going to stick with my APV for now, but once the warranty on my new sled is up I will probably switch to Torco.

I've used amsoil in all my toys, atv, dirtbike, 800R, Polaris Dragon, and I'll definitly be using it in my new M8;) Nothing but good to say about Amsoil:beer;

I reuse my oil jugs which a local dealer fills from his bulk supply. Saves a few bucks a gallon. Paid $32 to have a jug refilled on Friday.

Check with Torco if they will back the manufacturer warranty like AMSOIL does if the claim prove the engine failure is related to their oil. I uses AMSOIL interceptor after first tank of factory APV on my 05' M7 since new. After 3 riding season, I pulled power valves out for first time and they were remarkable clean. I do not see why you have to stick with APV oil until warranty expires.

No reason really, just figured I'd give it a shot. I doubt I'd get any flack from my dealer so long as I dont use Royal Purple. :beer;

ive used amsoil for 4 yrs , no engine failures but i do get thick carbon buildup on the power valves. i dont understand y i get deposits on the valves cause the oil is synthetic no patrolem in it
