Looking for any advice/ tips for going from 174 down to 146

I've got a 19 850 174 that is going to be my backup sled next year since I've got a freeride on the way. I want to go down to 146 to have something better for family rides that are more trail oriented and also just to do 146 things since they look like a blast to ride.

Sleds miles out and beat so selling with the intention of just replacing with something shorter won't work since this one just isn't worth a whole lot. So should I look for a 155/163 tunnel to then cut down to fit a 146 or just cut mine down and build some suspension bracket braces to match where they would be on a shorter tunnel?

I have 155 rails that will fit your 174 mounting locations or drop brackets that will move your rear 174 mount forward to accommodate standard rails.

How would you compare the handling characteristics of the sled with the different rear suspension mounting locations?
Reason I ask, the old Edge platform had 2 rear mount locations on the rails and brackets. The rear holes used for the 156/159 made a significantly more planted feel than the forward holes for the 136/144.

Here is a video of Toby running his 9 mod with the 155/174 long arm and a 220# RTS spring.
He runs the 155/174 in all his mod sleds as well as a few other RMSHA racers. This is a 155 setup. You can make it as wild or tame as you like.
I run a 175# RTS spring in my 165/174 backcountry setup. It still does hop overs.
