Just wondering what everyone is running for fuel controllers with these sleds when there on boost, what works what doesnt.

I have a far amount of time tuning a 1240 BB rt with a areocharger and it has a attidude controller that has been working well (on the dyno) to this point and is fairly easy to setup.

They are setup in stages somewhat like a carb, low, med, high curcits and boost referance as well you can change the speed in which some of those stages come in.

I'm in no way a expert on these controller but I can say they do work.

Thats good to see that you have a BB turbo up and running. I plan on running an areocharger kit on an BMP 1100. Im hoping to run mine on low boost 4-8 pounds on av gas. We ride altitudes from about 2500-8500 feet.
With the areocharger kits am i ging to be manualy seting the boost on the turbo or will it self compensate for altitude.

Talk to gus bohne on snowest. He just built a ski-doo 1000 and changed it over to carbs. That the ticket to making the bottom end last on these. Said it would out pull his 800 at 22 psi compared to 8 on his 1000. There is a thread in the ski-doo turbo section about it.

I have found a turbo performance kit, the twin turbo 53 kit at reasonable price used. Would I be better off running a single 66 over the twin 53 for the low boost that I want to run.

have tried both

Gents: I have run both twins 53's and a series 66 on a 2007 RT 1000 from Turbo performance. The twins worked great at 9,000 feet or lower....When we got at 10,000 ft and higher it struggled. It seemed the big single worked a lot better. With some Fett clutching components it also seemed to have less lag. But I agree that Josh or Bryce can give you some good tips!

Boost comparsion

9lbs on each felt very similar in regard to power. I am biased toward the series 66 because it was more reliable in creating 11-12 pounds of boost at altitude.

excellent info, we started to struggle right around the 13 IB's area, this is where we found the pipe wouldn't let the engine make more power.

I would bet your running into the something above 12 ib's, we will be working with a couple of good pipe builders in the near future to help design a pipe for these engines for boost above 13ibs.
