--Maybe Arctic Cat got bailed out, so this is the new government mandated hybrid snowmobile they have to make. It'll cost $17,500 but you get a $7,500 tax credit.

Maybe they have cash now, but history will tell you that AC has been bailed out a few times...in the 70s and 80s. Maybe not by the government, but this company has had its own kiss of death more than once. And we all know that 107mill in the bank wouldn't last long without some bank assistance in the present climate of skyrocketing fuel and material prices....sad but true face of the present economic climate.

You MBA's understand Suzuki owns 40% of Arctic Cat, don't you?

Cat's the smallest of the OEM's in capitalization/size and non-snow products, and has had the longest leadtime for new motor development. They can afford the fewest missteps without impacting NPD. With that said, if poo can pull off as many phups they've had, and still survive in the sled biz, I don't think anyone has anything to worry about for a few years. Just saying. Get back to sled talk.

In 1982/83 Arctic Cat was resurrected by former employee's. That company was called Arctco INC. This was no bail out by any means, their hard work and funding along with true Arctic Cat lover's is what makes them what they are today, Another great BUILT IN THE USA Company.

Latest photo from HCS of the M800. Looks pretty sweet if you ask me

2012m.jpg

Anyone know how the hood/tub is arranged? Is it like the current M with the entire hood/light pod opening forward on a hinge, or is it more like the doo/pro set-up with fixed gauge/light pod, large side panels, and a smaller center hood panel?

Also makes me wonder whether the 2012 has retained the under-hood snorkel intake. Looking at this latest pic, is the black patch directly under the light pod the intake (both sides?)? If so, how does that square with the front intake of the current 800 engine?

Soooo many questions and soooo many more hours to wait for all the answers. :face-icon-small-dis
