I was so excited today to get off work and get into West Yellowstone and venture down to the expo.

I had my bibs on.
I had my coat on.
I had my gloves on.
I had my helmet on.
I was ready to go.
Then these words struck me hard, "Polaris decided at the last minute not to do any demo rides".
The heartbreak.
The anguish.
No Polaris 850 demo ride for me.
What is a man to do?
WHAT?

Then as I moped slowly away ..... What? —- A demo ride ...For me!!

Hey at least you got to ride the best sled for 19 :)

From the reports I've seen the Cat is smokin' both 850's, and yes that is in side by side up hill climbs.

Who has done that comparison?

Max Sled Mag quote( Jason soucie)

Last week, when we had all of the new two stroke mountain sleds, in a straight pull up the hill, in about 2 feet roughly of fresh snow, the Alpha did the best.

Yes this include both 850 brand sleds!!

I doubt that they lined up all three sleds, the cat kicked both 850's and there is no video??? Snowcheck month and no video??

Kinda like my ice fishing trip last week, I caught a lantern.... and it was still lit!!! :)
You come up with a video of the cat kicking the two 850's in a straight up climb and I'll blow out the lantern!!!

I will also be snowchecking a Cat!!!!

I would not say Cat is smoking the other guys 850's, I have talked to riders I trust about the 2019's and it is the best Cat to date but not a must have sled over the others. The mountain sled field is very close can't go wrong with any of them these days. That being said I'd really like some rider reviews about the new 850 axys, have really heard nothing. I'm a skidoo rider (2018 850) but I think Polaris has addressed my 2 issues for 2019 that have kept me off an axys, which are lack of power stock and wide stance.

Is the 2019 800 making more power than the 18's? I've rode with several 2018, MC 800's this winter, they were no slouch, but they sure didn't make anyone stop and go wow!!!! 8)

I rode the alpha. No idea how it climbs. I don't think it has the power of the 850 doo and no idea about the 850 poo. My bet is the 850 poo is stronger than doo. Why would you kick one out with less power. I heard the 18 cat is in the mix so if the alpha climbs better or more power to the track then maybe.

New track being 3.5 pitch hooks up better than 2018's is the biggest climbing improvement for Cat. Cats 800 makes great power but not like the 850's especially down low.

The cat folks said Cat bumped the power 5hp across the board on the 19 800’s.

Anyone know why Polaris pulled the plug on demo rides ? Was it just that day they decided no ride ? I would think Polaris would be egar to get the public on their new 850.

I could see the alpha beating the poo 850 on a straight climb only because of the 2.86p track that still works best for what buradnt does.
the vid of him climbing you can tell that new motor cranks the power out!
However, polaris is probably waiting for these cat demos to get nice and caked up clutch sheaves/worn belts before it releases the 850 for comparisons on the hill... smart move.
