I'll tell you what, you guys certainly know how to pop a rider's cherry! I feel bad for the new guys cause I know how scared and intimidating it is.
Here's how the conversation at the trailer normally goes down when a new guy is riding with us.
Ghost - "should we take it easy on him?"
BF - "huh, what?"
Ghost - "that's what I thought. Just do our "normal" ride."
BF - "that what I was going to do."
Ghost - "this time don't forget to look back."
BF - "huh, did you say something?"
I'll never forget Fynn giving me the "speech" on the way up to Chama the first time. "Now these guys are crazy. They aren't going to wait up for you so you have to ride hard and ride as fast as you can. Just follow the tracks if you get lost. If you aren't with us at the next stop, we'll eventually turn around."
I remember huffing and puffing up to a stop on my first ride and everyone else was rested and ready to go. I didn't get a chance to catch my breath. When I look back on it now, all I can do is smile. It was worth it. It really forced me to push my limits.
