Zero problems whatsoever, knock on wood. Love the sled, broke in the sled and rode it like a normal person the 1st yr. This yr, I'm going to totally abuse it.

2011 Snowcheck has 4 year bumper to bumper warranty but
expires at 3,000 mi. Had to pay another $800 bucks to extend

Tony,

I just called Polaristar Warranty Solutions (the company that did the extended warranties on 2011 Snowchecks) today about the four year warranty. The four year warranty is TERM based not mileage based. Four years from original in service date. Two year warranty had 3,000 mile limit. Was petrified before I called them because we have two 2011's-- one at 2500 miles, the other at 2,000 miles. The 2012 4 year warranty is also term based with unlimited mileage through different warranty company.

On a different note, what was your verdict for helix this year? Same as before or the new one you were trying?

If you do the math on the poll results it shows a 14% failure rate. Just an FYI. I just bought a used 2011 and am trying to decide if I should add an extended warranty.

--14% failure rate and most sleds do not have 1000 miles on them yet which, seems over 1000 miles is where the most failures happen to occur. Should be an interesting season this year when more miles rack up on these sleds.

Can the poll be altered to let someone change their vote? I am reading and hearing about issues this season with a few more miles on the low mileage sleds.

The poll is oniy letting me vote one time. I have had 2 motor go down on my 2011 Pro and I just lost a motor on my 2012 Pro with 1,150 miles.

Exactly, the poll is updated every now and then but it was still outdated as soon as the first person who voted "no problems" had a breakdown.

Been thinking about this as well, but not sure people would want to start over again? Curious as to what the "real" numbers are now, but not everyone is on snowest anyway so...

Bottom line; the pro is probably the biggest contradiction in snowmobiling history. Insane mountain sled, but.....

I think Alanis nails the pro situation:

2011 pro froze solid. Hole in crankcase, toasted everything. Was only going 25mph down the trail back to the rigs when it went. How does anyone come up with 5-6K for a 800 motor??? Anyone know of any shortblocks in stock anywhere

Just deal with the weight of the yamaha and you won't have to worry motor problems or belt problems, been a proven fact!

Dropped a skirt

1500 hard miles
Trashed top and bottom. Holes in the case and it was still running. Sent it to indydan for a long rod conversion. Guess ill try out a demo xm.

You all realize indy dan will fix broken skirts and crankcases right?
2500 base price
250 crankcase repairs
3 year warrenty on breakage
Long rod conversion
Skirt reinforcements included. No change in price if the skirt is broken.

Wish I wouldn't have voted a week ago.

Catastrophic failure at 1300. Piston skirt broke and busted through the case. 5k in warranty claim, 3-4 weeks lost.

Btw both pistons were scuffing just like the old d8.
