Massive "LAST COLD" major storm for west coast 10-18 March predicted by the "DWEEB" expect 8 to 16 feet. https://mammothweather.com/

Our hemispheric pattern is going into transition. The RMM phase space is showing an MJO strengthening as it moves into Phase 7 over the Western Pacific. Look at the Phase Space diagram below and see how strong it gets as it moves through Phase 7/8 . This has the affect of modulating the westerlies and can extend the East Asian Jet to the west coast. (Amplification then Retrogression) Many of our Pineapple and Mid Latitude AR’s are forced by this phenomenon during the Winter. There is no question, that the EAJ will extend toward the west coast now. However, there are a lot of questions about how that change to the pattern will effect California. As mentioned last post, it is too soon for a real forecast. However, as an outlook, since the potential event’s beginning is some 8 days away, we can look at several possibilities through the week two ensembles to make some guess on what my occur. The event could last a week or more and often ends with a dry period and milder temperatures. Again it is too soon for a Bonafede forecast, and here are some of the latest longer range possibilities. The week two Global Ensembles are coming this afternoon, which will add to the CFS forecast below. Please view these “with interest” and not a forecast. By the end of this week, there should be better confidence in what will occur later the following week. At this time, the silver lining is that this does not look like a warm event.

This. What an ass kicker….
12 people have died in Southern California. Parts of Los Angeles County has over 8 feet of snow and they are air dropping food, water and medicine. Most deaths from lack of medicine or lack of ongoing medical treatment.

In the mountains but not where you live. You would spend your whole time digging out and just trying to survive.
Mammoth Lakes California has over 24 feet and expect 4 to 10 feet more next 10 days PLUS rain.

Condo owners are upset with the cost of snow removal exceeding a $1,000 dollars, typically a few hundred for the season.

Most homes are at least a million dollars. People are paying big bucks to shovel snow off the roof so it doesn't collapse. I know a guy getting around a grand a day working 8 hours to remove snow. Has his own equipment.

Can't rent or get a hotel room in Mammoth. Local town of Bishop about 50 miles away elevation 3500 feet room rates have doubled to around $200 a night.
