Last Ride of the 2024-2025 Season at Yuba Pass

Kool-Aid and I did our final ride of this season today at Yuba. Snow conditions were about as good as they could be. There's still 18" or so on the trail out of the parking area and we found three, maybe four feet up at or above 7500'. It was a short day, only 15 miles. The snow was set up but not frozen so traction was decent. It was quite warm; we could have ridden without a jacket. I bet most of that snow will be gone in a week, ten days tops.

Here's to hoping the 2025-2026 season is better. This three month riding season crap is ridiculous. Can you believe they CLOSED Sonora for snowmobiling as of April 26th? I'm certain there's still plenty of snow up there. What a load of crap. If there's 18" at 7000 at Yuba there's bound to be a LOT more at 8500-9000 around Leavitt Lake. F'ing greenie BS.

Anyway, here's a giant middle finger to this season AND last season. And to the people that run the "Bridgeport Winter Recreation Area."

Yup on the middle finger , they blew (dozed) our roads open April 4th so the loggers could go log in 12 feet of snow , funny thing their hasn't been a log truck or equipment in their yet !!! Glad you had a decent year end ride I actually am bummed it is over loved the new sled for 320 or so miles I got !!!! Here is to a huge 2025-26 snow year for all!!!

We need another 2022-2023. I wasn't here for that; I hadn't gotten back into it yet. This is why I've been so miffed about it all; I come back after a 15 year absence, after a huge year, and get two completely crap year.

At this point I'm just glad I had a decent last ride, so now I can eagerly await next year and HOPE it will be better.

It's trending down. Only 15 rides this season , 6 of which were on my annual trip. That's 10 less rides than last season and half of what I consider a "good season". What happened to late Dec/January and April this year?

Things go in cycles. It will come back, I'll remain positive and look forward to next season and adding to the 400 miles on the new sled.

And their isn't much we can do about it ❄️🤣 all the peeps I ride with blamed me cus I bought a new sled , guess that's pay backs cus I started that analogy several years ago 😎😎

Hey Rob.G. I thought you were moving and getting out of the sport? Glad to see your still riding.

It's always up in the air. There's a lot to it that I don't want to go into here, but THIS minute it's cheaper to stay in Reno than to go back on the road (I'm a fulltime RVer since 2008). If I'm here, I might as well have sleds because winter would suck otherwise (regardless of snow conditions). Otherwise I'd rather spend winter in Arizona where I can offroad the whole time.

So yeah... THIS minute I'll stick around.. but one more crap winter and who knows....
