I wil be heading to the post office in the morning to see what shipping charges will be and the box size to fit the bumpers in.

I would say 4-5% of the Total cost of snubber and shipping added to the price to cover paypal fees.... And keep it with paypal only for payment, to make your end of the deal as simple for you as possible, since you are not making a dime on this.

Doing the "friends/family" option on PayPal for these sales will trigger a freeze on your account for so many transactions of similar amounts... so that is not an option.

Just my opinion.

A bunch more sets are shipping out today... currently we are running about 2 weeks behind from the time you place your order until the order ships. I have been asked, if there was a difference between the Gulfi and the Dura pro bumper on the bottom, where the bumper meets the ski.

These types of questions are certainly valid and given that our product is still new in the market, completely fair. Sage, I noticed you just edited your post, but would still like to speak into whether the additional material on Gulfi's is beneficial or not. I will preface by saying that just as our previous posts, we are not offering our opinion, but instead information that can be corroborated (for example by a quick Google search or by a reputable materials engineer).

The additional material on the bottom is not beneficial and in fact is detrimental to the performance and life of the dampener. This is mostly due to "shape factor".

Elastomers can be thought of as a incompressible fluid in the fact that they do not change volume under pressure. Instead, when they "compress", they merely change shape by deflecting in all directions. By having un-needed material on the bottom side of the dampener, it gives more area for the elastomer to deflect to (i.e. lowers the shape factor). Too low of a shape factor allows the dampener to be compressed beyond its compressive strain limit (usually 15% - 22%). The easiest way to address this is to increase the tensile modulus, which without altering chemical composition at a molecular level, can only be achieved through raising the durometer.

Consequently, when you repeatedly compress any elastomer past it's compressive strain limit, it will eventually begin to fail due to stress and hysteretic heat build up (internal overheating). For a dampener where this hasn’t been taken into account, depending on the type of riding and/or what’s encountered, that may mean failure after just a few rides, or years down the road. Any elastomer will eventually fail if it’s being compressed past its strain limits. I touch on this as previously explained in post #151 of this thread.

If that isn't enough reason to not have more material than needed on the bottom of the dampener, there's also the argument of unnecessary weight.

In reality, the only reason to have any extra material on the bottom of a dampener is to keep it in the ski saddle when the ski is flexed to max travel limits.

We’ve been blessed enough to have access to the relationships, knowledge, and capital resources needed to design the DuraPro dampener with the correct geometry (shape factor), and composition / stoichiometry, so that when the ski is flexed to its max travel limits, it will never exceed its compressive strain limits. This is why we are confident that the DuraPro will last the life of the ski... and beyond. We also took into account enough material on the bottom of the dampener, in the proper locations, to ensure that it stays in the ski, without any unnecessary weight.

I am not going to debate the bumpers-it is not worth my time-
Only trying to convey what peeps have asked- and not trying to defend a product.

To all SW members that have asked for the Gulfi style of bumpers- P/M's have been sent out to all that requested the product.

We were not given the impression that you or anyone for that matter are debating, defending, or promoting any product.

We are also being presented with questions and concerns both here and through PM. Valid ones which we feel deserve valid answers and we are just trying our best to address them with objective data.

I'm sorry if we've ruffled some feathers or offended anyone through that process; that most certainly is not our intention.

Joe, (Sage Crusher) is doing this for us out of the kindness of his heart...To help his fellow sledders... Something rare in this world IMO.

He organized this, diligently waited for ordering, laid out his cash up front, followed up on shipping, and is now packing and shipping them.

If you requested one or more ski rubbers from Joe.... FOLLOW UP with your order and payment... so he is not sitting the expense of the ski rubbers he ordered for you.

Don't make this a situation of "No good deed goes unpunished"...
