Hyperfax?

I read somewhere that the new slides called Hyperfax had a higher melting point around 750 Degrees while stock hyfax melts around 325 degrees. I'm just wondering if thats a good thing? Steal doesn't melt until 1000's of degrees but theres reasons why they dont use steal!! Does hyperfax wear on the track more?

Hiperfax are better than polaris white by a mile. I worn 4 pairs of polaris hifax in the first 800 miles and than switched to hiperfax and have ran them for the last 2000 miles without a problem. They are on my 2001 RMK 800 151". That is the first upgrade I make. But I must say I run in the mountains only 2-3 weeks a year and the rest is flatland trail riding. But I do know they work. The first set of Polaris hifax melted right to the track - that was not a fun mess to clean up and unstick.

My vote is for the hiperfax.

I don't have a fully clipped track and I run them and I can't find anywhere on there site any mention of having to have a fully clipped track.

where is the best place to get the clips..and how do you install them, does it require a special clamp tool..??

you can get the clips at dennis kirk or hpe and yes it takes a special tool they both sell them too. or you can sweet talk your dealer and borrow theirs. :D
 
I don't care for Hyperfax either. If a set of stock hyfax lasts 1500+ miles on a 163" track why go to the expense. Scratchers down, watch speed in marginal conditions & stock works fine. Hyperfax may not melt but can build a lot of heat in your track=not good for track.
 
yea, seems to me like such a high melting point on the hiperfax would cause the track to wear alot faster. What are the benefits of a fully clipped track v.s. half clipped?

I am no expert on this but from what I read, the Hyperfax needs to run on the metal clips and not on the rubber of the track. Supposed to reduce the friction between the slider and track, but a fully clipped track will add to the weight of the track.
 
The polaris stock white hifax lasted me 6000 miles on my 05 switchback. I mainly do a lot of trail/ lake riding and a lot of the time there is marginal snow. So don't invest in the hyperfax, just run what you have until its gone.
