Help me spend my money!

Are you saying you would swap 153 parts for the 162 parts? Rails, coolers, and tail section.

I was thinking real hard about buying 162 rails and track for the HCR I just got, going to ride it tomorrow and will know more, let me know. I like that when the HCR track gets broke in its perfect unlike my 09 m1000 162 that the track is more like a 65 duro now.

Thats insulting, No one on here wants a bomber 08, people where buying new with warranty 08 153 m1000 for $5500 last year, because they wont touch a 09.
 
Since you already have an M1200 I would lean towards a 2010 M8. I love the 1000's but you have a modded out one. If you buy the 1000 will will start to mod it out and you will end up with 2 identical sleds just one with a longer track. Buy a 2010 M8
 
Good point if I wanted a straight up stocker it would be a 10-11 m8 or HCR. But somehow in my quest for a stocker I wound up with T-HCR for the same money to go with my mod m1000. guess I just can't go stock.

I'd get the '10 M8 if you already have a 1200. My M1k stock is much more powerful and can easily highmark my much lighter M8, but the light end on the M8 is so much more flickable and fun. I'm glad I have both sleds. Best of both worlds.

Its an addiction that many of us suffer from. I love running fully modded brand new sleds that have no warranty:face-icon-small-dis

He has a 141 m1200, with the power and shorty it has to be pretty darn flickable.
 
It's very flick-able and no heavier than a M8 and it looks like a new sled because I've updated everything to what ever Cat comes out with..float skid, adjustable steering post, tail section and tail light, no reverse, but it does have a Diamond light drive. But it does have it's issues though.

I've had it a long time and I just want something new..and STOCK!
 
Invest the money in a nice mutaul fund and make 5-10% a year, snowmobiling is just to expensive. Thats what I tell my self everytime I buy a new sled, but bottomless powder with family and friends is priceless.

I would buy a new 2010 or 2011 800, then you have a warranty. You already have a 1200 so why get the 1000. You say you want a gas and go sled, but after reading what you have done to your 1200 that just isn't going to happen. The mod bug will get you sooner or later:face-icon-small-win
 
But a new M1000 153/162 is still nose heavy compared to the M8. That's what I was getting at...

Everytime I get on a m8 I complain about the power and have to work harder than I do with my m1000, But you are right a 2010 m8 can be made lighter, by 19lbs just in motor weight. But a 200+hp rated sled that can be easily dropped to 450lbs is a kick in the arse compared to a stock weight 160hp m8.

I hear ya. I have no issues throwing the M1K around just like I do my M8 (just a tad more input), and the torque gets me out of a lot more sticky situations than the M8 can do, and it's still pretty much stock! I already put the SW tunnel dump on the M1K and it feels nearly the same as my M8 did stock before I put on some LW mods. What I do know is that at this elevation the M1000 has much greater power over the M8 even in stock form. Even though the HP ratings on them both stock are close, there is no comparison on the hill IMO. Torque wins.

I had an 05 1m 900 151 then 06 m7 162,, rode some 1000's and now to a 2010 m8...

Go with the 2010 m8. That thing is crazy awesome. Haven't had it "up against" any 1000's yet but I have my $ on the 2010 m8. Snappy, light, unbelievable responsiveness.

I also agree that going with the 1000 when u already have a 1000, esp a modded one, ur gonna be disappointed. Same thing u already got but heavier and less power...I wouldn't think the graphics would outweigh those 2 but.....

If its the graphics, buy a sled wrap for $300...

Best stock sled available....2010 m8.
 
Well guys I decided to pull the trigger and I'm picking up a New 2010 M8 SnoPro ($9700) tomorrow. I'll the same money in it after taxes as the M1000 cut down and I won't have to do a dam thing to it...at least that's the plan???? :)

Now I realize ur from Wisconsin, my condolences, and maybe the laws are diff there, but In MN when registering a "used" snowmobile, bought out of state, u do not have to pay sales tax...only have to pay sales tax if ur registering a new snowmobile bought out of state...

Just some more food for thought.
