Crank Discoloring

I have a crank that was welded and trued back in 2004 by Unionbay. I tore the engine apart and noticed that all of my rods have a slight heat discoloring down by the bearings. All of the bearings are tight and everything else looks great. Is this normal, Or do i have a problem.

Sounds like it got real hot, are you okay? Iwould run it if everything else looks good and tolerances are within specs, but I'm sure there are others who wouldn't.

I don't have any pictures of my crank but this is exactly what it looks like. Found this on the yamaha totallyamaha forums, there concenus was it was normal coloring from being welded.

The cranks I have had welded over the years don't look like that. That's a lot of heat.
