The ECM from 2018 is not cross compatible with the new units. The 2020+ ctec engine is not the same either so I wouldn't think you'd want those maps either. I'd be curious to know what the benefit would be

There was a reflash on the 18 and 19 for fire out the exhaust not sure if that is what you are referring to? If so the dealer could just do that. There are also aftermarket reflashes available but that's on your dime.

If yours runs good I would say leave it alone and not risk getting the "updated" map that may make it run worse. If you are looking for a few more hp and more oil to the engine the aftermarket flashes are the way to go.

My 18 would shoot fire out upon shut down after long descents even after letting it idle for a moment. That went away after a silber reflash. It was also a little snappier off the throttle.

The original 2019 Cat is the best tune. Cat had a recall to reprogram the 2019. I didn’t want the new tune so I had to sign a release of no warranty which I happily did. IMO, the new tunes are daaaawgs. Haha

I wonder about the aftermarket flashes like precision efi, and if they increase oiling, probably be worth it then.

Appreciate this...I should have gave more information. I currently have a 2020, thought the 21 Ctec had an updated tune from factory for the Mountain max and Hardcore. Maybe it was the 19 that needed the reflash that actually had bad reviews.

They let me keep my 19 on original programming until it blew and then to get warranty coverage they had to do the 19 reflash. It was noticeably worse after, down 500rpm which I picked up with an SSI Y-pipe. Now it has a Linderman tune.

How do you like the Linderman tune?

Did a Jaws pipe as well. It pulls strong but pretty pricey by the time you do pipe, flash, and clutching when you can buy factory turbos now.
Yea for sure pricey, I think I am going to wait and try the Catalyst out. That sled looks real good just have to ride before I buy.
