2016 Won't start. Need ideas

Sounds like your injectors are stuck open. Usually fixed by pulling it over with WOT a few times, can do with plugs in or out, with TSS disconnected this may not work. If doesn't work, try disconnecting or clamping off the fuel line and then pull it over 10 or so times before unclamping and letting it fire. Frustrating as hell but should be fixable. Best of luck

There's a quick connect in the line leading to the rail. Are there check valves in this or is gravity fed fuel from the tank going to squirt out everywhere if I pull it apart?

Ether wouldn't do squat. I got kind of a half hearted single fire but it wouldn't turn over.

I pulled the brand new plugs I put in yesterday and every one of them had gas sitting in the gap. When checking spark yesterday in the lot there was definitely some sludge slopping out of the plug hole.

I'm guessing this thing just might be monumentally flooded....in the case and all. Sticking a lighter at the plug holes this time didn't give a chirp or a pop but a rolling flame out of the y-pipe. Pretty awesome.

I've got the plugs out and the pipe off. I'm just going to let it sit overnight and hopefully dry out.

Sandman: that's what I'm doing man. There's nothing random about this, this ain't my first rodeo ;). I've just never had to chase this down on an injected sled. Yes fuel, spark, compression and air are all present.......hence the thread.

I have found a few threads talking about 91 octane and cold nights messing with the injectors. Is there any way get them 'unstuck?'

Did you try the information I listened above?

Edit: just did

It rolled over for a few cycles. Gage lit up (put the hood on) for a sec.

That's by far the most I've gotten out of it since saturday. Imma keep trying that. Thanks yo.

Have u turned the clutch by hand while using the lighter over the sparkplug hole?
My old 583 could take 10 minutes of that sometimes

I don't need to right now. It creates a smooth consistent flame. I keep just blowing it out because I don't want to make a camp fire out of my head. There's a shlt ton of fuel in there.

Yeah, i would light mine and very slowly turn the engine over until the slow rolling flame went away. Then i would light it again while turning it over a little faster, jet flame would shoot out of the cylinder, be careful, it will melt ur hand and lighter.
Then i would have a friend pull the rope fast and i would light the cylinder until we couldn't get anymore flames.

I'll get the fire extinguisher.

While pulling over the motor with the cord, it's still getting fresh fuel to it though right? Wouldn't this be a never ending process?

Maybe your crankcase is half full of gas. I had that happen to a dirt bike one time. I had to flip it upside down and let the gas run out :face-icon-small-sho

Honestly, i do not know on the Proclimb.
I would hope that when the key is off the pump and injectors do not function.

Maybe someone with more knowledge can chime in.

U can pinch the fuel line closed.

If the hood is off you can unplug the fuel pump. The connector is about even with the handle bars on the right side top. My brother has a 2016 cat and we have been fighting a fuel pump problem. I think it's 8 screws to take the hood off

Definitely want the hood off.
So i guess the key switch is irrelevant!
Tether installed? Pulling it is the same as turning off the key.

Elk to the rescue.
Unplug the pump.

I already had to bail on ride plans tomorrow. I need a damn grill lighter with an extension. All the hair on my right hand is gone. I couldn't get killiki's hot plug method to work with the hood off....weird.

Might pull the water pump line from the oil pump tomorrow and see what comes out.

Thanks for all the help guys!

pinch the fuel line with a set of vice grips and the hot plug ...

I don't want to crush or deform the thing.

That quick connect to the rail......is that free flowing or is there is a check valve in there. Either way I'm taking off the power to the pump next.

Yours still has all 8? :face-icon-small-ton
It's not mine, It's my brothers. While he's working on it i rev up my poo and say that's what you want it to sound like :face-icon-small-ton

I thought there where 8 screws. The last trip we set the hood on it and just used the side straps to hold it on all day

After the first jet flame, i learned to hold the lighter like this.

That was just friendly razzing about cat verses poo. I've ridden my brothers cat a few times now. It's nice, it will out clime my poo all day long but the poo handles better for me.

The problem we are having is that every once in a while when he shuts it off it will not start. The difference between yours and his is that his is not getting gas. We have a little 9v battery and a couple short wires. The fuel pump will not run until we run it back backwards for a second

With the hood off, energize the fuel pump. If your fuel injector is stuck open fuel will flow out of the throttle bodies. If not, you can rule that out. I would also check the fuel pressure to rule out the regulator.
