You need to read it again....
I don't know about anyone else but I've never seen anyone swap out the stock tank for a smaller one? There is burandt who put a lighter weight (and smaller?) tank on his sled this year(but I guess when you don't pay for it and have resources at your fingertips who cares). But it doesn't matter who you are we all top off our sled before any and every ride? Nobody wants to be the guy who's always running out of fuel. And just for fun lets say you do run your sled half empty on all the fluids? So you're what 40-50lbs lighter? But risk running out of oil? Or burning up your engine? Or being that guy that's always out of fuel? Fact is the weights are close when on the mountain. I don't go to the showroom floor and pretend to ride the sled dry. My hat goes off to the engineer's at doo that can make an awesome machine that doesn't need as many fluids as poo. Poo has a great setup and has some cool stuff that doo doesn't but so does arctic cat and yammaha. But end of rant

..The e start question was due to the arthritis/tendinitis in my elbow from framing with a 32oz hammer when I was younger...a shot of cortisone would probably do the trick, but if the e start was a minimal weight penalty, I would prefer that, over a shot...at 42, I want to minimize the amount of cortisone I need! Small tank won't be a problem. This new sled is going to be the leader for a while.

I always thought Polaris got better mileage than the xm but my xm would run out and all you could get in it was 8 gallons. If they will legitimately use 9.5 then that is all that's needed. They will be really close and the doo will ride lighter. Lightweight stuff on skidoo is a waste because you can't tell. The poo you can tell. I also bet most can't tell if your half full or completely full. That is why they give you a guage.
I struggle more with rider weight than sled weight.
So lets talk about dry weight of the 165 Doo compared to the 163 x 2.6" AXYS. Seems like it has been pretty quiet there? Okay for those who say that isn't fair, lets even up the playing field and compare the 154 Doo to the 163 x 2.6 AXYS dry weight. Now lets hear how you compare.
