CFI 700 crankcase vs CFI 800 crankcase

Can anybody tell me if there is really any difference between the two? Will a CFI 800 crank set into a CFI 700 crankcase? Is the center to center the same as the 600 and 700 CFI motors? Will both cases bolt onto the same motor straps/mounts? Yes I understand the stroke difference is different with the cranks.

The flatlands
clearance

The 800 block has some material cut away for connecting rod clearance. You could probably add that to a 700 block yourself. The 800 block is also machined on the top to make clearance for the cylinder and piston. This would be tough to do yourself. I also heard that the stator was changed to a newer design in the 800 (i'm not sure what year - 2011, I think). The 700 has the older design that is the same as the 900. The newer stator mounts differently.
