My 8 year old is all about powder but his edge 340 track isn’t cutting it. Even if I kept the 121 and went with a taller paddle.

Great info thanks!According to other members a 1.25" lug is the biggest you can install with the factory drivers (9 tooth). That said you really need to measure the clearance between your existing track & tunnel before you make any changes.
FWIW, Devilmanak installed a 1.75" track with 8 tooth drivers on his machine but said it was tight. Thread here: https://www.snowest.com/forum/showthread.php?t=433969
We installed a 1.75"(2.52 pitch) track on our '96 Indy Lite with 7 tooth drivers & there was plenty of clearance. Probably could have even
squeezed a 2" lug in that machine with the 7 tooth drivers.....
My 1.25" x 136 off a 550 Trail RMK works awesome. Geared it down in the chaincase and let it go.
I think I’m going to try the 121 Predator 1.25 for now. Should be huge upgrade from what he has now. You think I’ll be ok with stock gearing?
Do they make rail extensions for the edge 121?
From what I gathered he used extensions off a edge for his lite. Not sure if they make extensions for all edge skids. SLP didn’t know for 121Check out the thread I posted above.
Devilmanak used 121" to 136" extensions on his 340 track swap. They are a different P/N than what the older Indy Lites use. The details are in the thread.
