I am pondering a purchase of a 2009 d8 and have heard of problems with the motors. I also just searched the IQ thread and there was alot of talk about an update being done to the 08s "10 update." Just wondering what this is.

they put new pistons, head and a new map to fix whatever problems they had before i never had a problem but now the update has detuned my sled probably because of the new head and map wich i hate. so i ordered a power commander 5 so i could put proper fuel to air ratio.
hope it helps dynotech is claiming 10 more horsepower

The update kit is for 08 and 09 800 fuel inj models. A new 09 SHOULD have the kit before it leaves the dealer. Mine is running great, but my fingers are crossed. My 08 800 siezed twice last year. Hopefully this 2010 update is the fix.
