Looking through my autometer catalogue and don't see any that are waterproof. What have you guys been putting on your Nytro's? The digital readout is impossible to use. Marine edition has some nice ones but they are a dash mount.. thx!

thats a sick idea. that apex/rx1 style tachs ROCK.. so much easier to read... and having a needle to glance at when climbing is really nice.

I guess you can get the clock to work too. Here is the thread. And a picture

I HIGHLY recommend the Venture guage! So much easier to clutch the sled when you can read the tach on the fly.
BTW the clock is kinda handy too, I didn't think I would use it. But I actually use it quite a bit!

That is pretty cool. It appears all the functions still work. that is what I was worried about. So when you adjust the warmers the display works too?? The thread says so, but it can't be cheap getting one of these..

Yes all display functions work normally. I am able to adjust the CO through the diagnosic mode as well!
Havn't tried pulling codes yet, however I assume it will work as well.

Apex gauge will work, however I heard reports that the tach is not accurate on the 3 cylinder engines.

Venture/Vector EFI gauge runs about $400 at Yamaha sports plaza.

That's a good question, I'm curious myself. Someone might be able to try it out though, snowpromod is parting his Apex out. Might be able to get a pod cheaper.

Vector GT Gauge for 2009 is #8GM 83500 11 and is $540.00 can.

for a 09 venture or a 2010 vector the gauge is different. #8HF 83500 00 00 and is $850.00 can

Will the first one work?? (8GM)

I heard of someone that tried the apex guage and it didnt work. I do bieleve it was the rpm's didnt read right. I thought you could get the 2010 vector guage for $395 usd from south seattle motoplex, but i think they moved to Oragon. I believe codes come from the cpu not the guage. While the cost of the guage is extream, at least you know that it will hold up to the harsh conditions that it would be subjected to.

Yup $419 form Yamaha Sports Plaza so by the time it gets here, $500 wow! at least that better than my local Canadian dealer at $840. I don't know if I can do it, that's a lot of dough..
