So.
If BRP sticks with its normal life cycle, this year's Spring Snow Checks should be the end of the GEN 4s on a 5 year chassis production lifespan.

Because last year got a bit Crazy for me, I did not snowcheck a 2021 Turbo Expert (Which I will do in a month or two).

Now I am just starting to WONDER, what a GEN 5 might have...

ANYONE HAVE ANY INSIGHTS or "thoughts" on what might be coming in 2022.

how about an 850 with ZERO gizmos on it, 154 short tunnel with hand warmers and a tachometer, decent shocks for less than $10k. that’s all i need. would sell thousands of them.

sled prices are getting ridiculous for the common folk

Probably lynx rear skid, new side panels, and making it higher, longer spindles? Be nice if you could add the seat hight you want, bar riser hight, at snowcheck time, and better shocks as options.

Ya
the cost of entry keeps getting higher and higher and the number of sledders keeps getting smaller and smaller...

Well it seams like a few aftermarket companies make parts for all brand sleds to make them a inch ish taller. So I'm quessing doo will copy, with, a-arms or spindle. But those who know can't say, could be just same as the 2021, time will tell.

at least we are to a point where a 7-8 yr old XM/pro can still be capable mountain sleds at an affordable price.

Hopefully a Gen 5 comes out for 2022. Tall spindles, rear skid with no torsion springs, narrow up the front running boards/belly pan, new plastics, drop 15lbs , 10-15hp increase out of the turbo, 4 year warranty. Sign me up!

I would be SUPER SURPRISED if that was the case.
I am betting on the 5yr cycle for the Gen 4.
But that IS PURE speculation on my part.

Tall spindles,
rear skid with no torsion springs
narrow up the front running boards/belly pan
new plastics
drop 15lbs
10-15hp increase out of the turbo
4 year warranty.

Everything on that list WOULD be possible.

Northern IL.
1. Better air intake
2.1 gal. larger fuel tank for shot sleds
3. Beautify the add on snow flap on short tunnels
4. Don’t make it more like a Polaris!

Thanks for my favorite sled so far SkiDoo! the 2020.5 gets it!

2021 is the 5th year of the Gen 4 Platform:
2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021.

However, since this is the first full year of the turbo, I think we'll see little to no changes for 2022 and then the Gen5 in 2023. It seems like major changes are never made 2 years in a row.

If you count the 2020.5 as the first year of the turbo, then MAYBE they'd have a major release again for 2022, but I personally doubt it.

It has gone both ways. 07 was the first year of the 800r, the next year they released the XP. 11 was the etec, not till 13 did they release the XM.
I think all they would have to do is some suspension updates and a little weight loss and it would keep most people happy on this chassis for another couple years.

Are we past the part and component delays of this so called pandemic? If yes maybe a change. If no then we are getting same sleds - at an increased price! But we will buy it - as 2 strokes kill viruses! Lets get a guaranteed delivery date, 4 year warranty, free belt and gallon of oil with every snow-checked sled!
