Those that kept the P22 on their Boost. How many issues did you have with it? Anything you recommend changing?

I have been told the bolt on the primary is having some issues and should be changed out every 400 miles.

I really don't want to change out the P22 for a P85 right out of the gate.

I didn’t have my boost out long enough to get a good feel for it. I know TRS was replacing the P22 with the P85 and was very happy with the p85 on the boost

This has been a issue since day one for that clutch...even during testing.. not sure the fix other than change the taper to fit the crank?...I have told many to lap the clutch, which every one should do no matter what clutch...

P85 is the fix
Daniel, post up some pics you have of your crews failures.
The only thing that holds the P22 together is the clutch bolt. No threaded spider or spider nut.
Every time your P22 clutch shifts back to neutral it hammers the bolt head and threads.

Here is a couple pictures, 5 of 6 p22 clutches blew up, 2 times just the outside half fell off. The other 3 came off the taper, i also had big groves were the belt sits, at only 500 miles. My other phone has lot more pictures, but it decided to find a new home on the mountains somewhere.

Fact !! the sleeve for the cover is just a pushed on part, it is held on with the bolt...It is never ever tight...it needs to be a threaded part...Thats just a start.

Threads aren't the only fix, an adequate interference fit would also work.

One would think that they would have seen failures in the razers and fixed it, however the extreme hot and cold a sled goes through may be more extreme?

Either way, it amazes me this **** makes it through r&d.

I wonder if the problems are turbo specific, or if the P22 will also fail on the new 9r.

I would bet money you won't see it on the ones used at 8k+, but you do see it on ones used at below 4k, and the ones in between are hit and miss.

HP kills parts. No way around it. The engineers should be compensating and designing for top hp 100% of the ride, but it seems they design for about 50% hp assuming we let off the throttle at times and ride on trails at partial throttle...
