what is everyone getting for track speed?? Out today and was only seeing like 42mph.. buddy has a same sled but the X package and he put in the 21 tooth gear and he was seeing 50.. your input is needed.. thanks

got 85mph on spedo in wyoming last week around home 1000ft elevation with 8-10000 ele setup was around 50-55 then hit rev limiter stock clutching is set from2-6k ft hows that for where you live? could be it?

I live in N. Idaho, Running a complete stock 2013 xm ,clickers on 2 and pulling 8000r's.. when i say track speed , i'm referring to when you're climbing ect... thanks for the reply

I have a 2011 800 etec 163 with a flexedge and its pretty consistent at 45 seen higher but pretty safe to say 45 is the average. That is at around 5-7000 feet. 50 seems pretty high from everything I've seen and heard but maybe he has a runner.

I have a 154 and I am in certain snow conditions having a hard time hanging on.
Been watching the tach and not the speedo. Clicker 2.

I'd say the preferable way to compare track speeds is in the same conditions, the same day, preferably on the same hill/meadow.
Then we get into rider weight, sled weight, wt from extra gear on the sled, wt from snow/ice build up.

Anything outside of those conditions will be highly random and inconclusive IMO.

So, I'd say you had the best test conditions between you and your buddies.
If your 42 and hes 50; then the 2ndary conditions come into play.
Or you both should record runs and compare to know your numbers are right, handy feature of these new gauges I spose. :)

what about if a 21 tooth top gear was put in.. would that make the speedo read incorrectly? Kinda like putting big tires on your truck.. what do you think?

i would say thats about right for stock clutching. I would be real supprised to see 50 in the deep with stock clutching.

Gearing doesnt throw the speedo off, it goes off the driveshaft.
Most stockers see upper 30s-low 40's depending on snow, altitude, rider weight etc.... there is a little to be gained through clutching and gearing.
I usually look at the lowest sustainable speed, not peak.

42 mph track speed is just Gay!! I want more!!!!!:face-icon-small-coo Maybe big bore? Or is there anything else that makes these xms pull more track speed?

ran a boosted sled last year and all was well until it started acting up... so , long story short, i'm a little gunshy to boost again anytime soon.. although a boosted xm would be tits I'm sure.... I don't know anyone in my area that is running one.....

When I go back and watch gopro footage of my rides I can see the speedo better sometimes and my track speeds (climbing XM 146) are usually in the 40s and with less snow on the slope I've seen 56/57 mph on the speedo at 0-3000 ft.

This sled gets down and dirty!
