Bit of a back story here. The couch started life as I believe a 1990 Polaris 650 Indy and through the years it has morfed into what it is today. It belonged to a now deceased sled buddy " Tim Hickson" whom was like a brother to me. Us group of about 10 riders called ourselves "The fat boy club" the rules were you had to be over 200lbs and ride a mod sled. When he passed in 2016 his wife gave the sled to another sled buddy. The sled was in rough shape having sat blown up since around 2000 when Tim entered the lighter weight turbo 4 stroke game. The first long track on it was a 141 with 2" plastic paddles smaller drivers and the motor was piped. Then somebody came out with a 156 1' lug and Tim had to have that. By this point the power was a Big bore 733 Poo triple, so on went the track, 2" plastic paddles, large drivers and a drop an rolled chaincase. When we all saw it for the first time someone said " that thing is longer than my couch" and the name stuck. Through the yrs the chassis got lots light weight parts including the tunnel ,seat and a small tank. Foot stirups removed and custom supports made , shell for a hood. The power changed a few more times, all Poo based triples PSI 750 genesis and PSI 800 genesis and finally a Storm based Price Performance 1075. The track is still the same 156 but now has staggered 2" paddles. My buddy got the motor rebuilt with help of a couple of other sled buddies with the intent of riding it a few years ago. But age and health issues has put a halt to that so now I am the proud owner. The motor is solid and sounds awesome, over the course of the summer my intent is to go through it front to back and rebuild what needs it so that I can ride it this winter. I am going to keep it period correct and ride it for our annual memorial ride and a couple other sled club events. Parts are getting so hard to find that I dont want to risk blowing it up or bending things , so a couple of easy rides a year it is.

few more pics, fabbed up new belly pan to tunnel mounts, new hood guides, pipe heat sheilds, all new heat tape. Fought with all the rusted front suspension bolts for a few days, redoing the wiring as is all cracked, Thx to ss250 for finding me period correct Fox shocks for the rear skid as it was missing 1. Sending all the shocks out for rebuild. Not sure what happened to the tunnel at the back, it was covered over when i got it. Gotta make a new extention to replace the damage. Need to source some new expansion rings that go between the pipe and the pipe exhaust flange to seal it up, could use high temp RTV worst case

PSI 8 - When you get "The Couch" completed and dialed in, a video would be nice so we could see and hear that triple, especially if you could do a pass or two in an open meadow or frozen lake. Nothing like hearing those old piped triples at full song. Enjoy the project.

not much to update, waiting on parts, parts and more parts. 1 pipe is being repaired as it had multiple pin holes from previous repairs, shocks are out for rebuild. Shortened the tunnel and getting a new snowflap mount fabbed up. Found a source for pipe to flange seals. The journey continues
