its going, definitely learned a bunch on that project!

It makes WAY more power than my 1200 which runs well Ive never dynoed my 1200 but typically they make 235 hp in stock form how mines put together, that 1500 i figured should make 275 and I have no doubt its making at least that!! Ideally I wanted to see how this pro project turned out then I was either going to put the 1500 in an iqr or a pro because the chassis its in isnt anything special. For the pipes alone I might try to find a nice iqr mtn chassis but after finally getting my pro running its a fun chassis for sure! If I cant find the right iqr to put it in ill probably put it in a pro this summer. Along with swapping my turbo apex into a ti chassis sitting in my shop and currently doing another 1200 wc pro along with a buddies 1000 cat big bore pro! Gonna be another long summer but after this im done building for a while!

Ya,,, that sounds like a busy summer. I knew that cat would have good hit, can't wait to see it on the snow.
What carbs are on the cat, bored 40's? Would lectrons be better or are they just too hard to tune?

I have a cat 800 triple in a 95 ish chassis.... it runs. I never take it out or let people ride it cause looking at that heavy ass block hurts my back lol. My turbo mod is finishing up more or less this week came to check back in and give you wet weights. keep in mind, its built to bomb through rmsha style courses and not be crooked as a democrat when it comes out the top, defiantly not the lightest build lol runing 153 ez ryde with 3" cat pc, fox evol x ski shocks asault width alternative impact chromoly a arms ( heavier wall custom built) zrp axys spindles, and 2019 axys assault (more or less) geometry.... ice age billet chain case, boondocker race gas intercooled air to air kit with a lot of mods and revisions to move air. P.s. looking for a good set of mikuni tm 36-38 trippple rack for an xlt build

Amazing, the thought and engineering you have put into this leaves me in awe. I've always wanted to build a 1350 UBR pro but the reality is probably never going to happen. There was a shop that built one about 3 years? ago, they had the build on here but I can't remember the name. Toy's something? Love to watch your work, keep the stories/pics coming.

Thanks Jay, The sled youre thinking of was built by Jake from mild to wild motorsports, it was actually a 1375 UBR with more of a one off stroked crankshaft. It was parted out and my buddy owns the chassis and it has a billet 910 twin in it... very nice sled even with 2/3 of an engine in it!

If youre referring to the cat engine, the Reality is this was thought up decades ago with cutting/welding cases to make bigger displacement engines. All Im doing is putting the already built pieces of the puzzle together.

The big cat triple surprisingly fits in a pro chassis better than the WC based engine and makes more power with OEM cheap and readily available parts for years to come. I have an engine plate im saving to build one of those in the future. Making progress on pipes and over this last summer I did another pro rmk 1200 for a buddy that we got the pipes to fit under the stock side panels and diamond S mesh hood! Looks totally stock!!! sled weighed 516 with a huge double pass cooler (full), 163, and with 5 gallons of fuel... well under 500 dry and 240+ hp.

And I also fit a PRO RMK with a 1000 cat twin big bore twin, with twin pipes for a buddy to get an idea on doing the cat engine. Stock hood/panels/headlight. This sled weighed in at 446, 155, twin pipes, and about two gallons of fuel. should be 180+hp.

I reworked the crank in the 1500 cat. Northern crank added just under 2 lbs to the crank by putting tungsten slugs into it to help smooth it out and tame the harmonic that these engines were known to have when built into a triple. Its much smoother now than it ever has been and should live a long happy life! Gathering parts up for another engine build to someday stuff into a pro and hopefully get it all tucked into a mesh hood and stock side panels.

If you look at the pic of the crank you can see where they welded the tungsten in the wheels of the crank. 6 slugs per cylinder.

Been busy this summer. I put my fresh new 1200 ves watercraft engine in my pro. The last PAR engine I built in 2008 wasnt running as good as it should have. I figured it was either the pipes not making hp or it was getting tired. All it was was a couple blown bellows in the exhaust valves. Typically they will puke a bit of oil out the vent hole in the plastic caps indicating a leak. These didnt so it threw me off until I pulled it. The engine and pipes are fine. But I wanted to pull my old engine and go through it because It has been the best most reliable engine I have ever been around, it at the very least deserves to be 100% fresh and ready to go again in the future.

Also I wanted to pull the engine out and check out the bulkhead to see if after a few seasons of running if there were any issues with cracking out, or the weight/power of this engine.

I also have been working with Jaws to build pipes for these conversions, a buddy of mine and I sent jaws a pro rmk chassis, watercraft engine and all the needed parts to build pipes. We are now at a point where its a reality. We have the pipes sitting about 3-4" lower than the original crank shops. The only way to get them to lay in like the CPI pipes is a NON VES cylinder. But after talking many times with Jason at Jaws, his number one goal was to make the most HP as possible. I guarantee these pipes will be the best performing pipes in a pro rmk PERIOD!

I still have engine plates to mount a big triple or big twin for that matter ( I also did a 1000cc cat 900 based engine in a pro this summer.)

Im still working on the hoods to cover up the pipes.

Heres the 1000 cat pro I did for a buddy, this should be a fun sled to say the least! 1000 speedwerx bigbore, twin pipes, stock pro weight (456 on the scales) 190+- HP, all stock unmodified chassis, overstructure, steering, hood, lights, factory pro switches for handwarmers, hi/low beam etc.

I tried to make it as "stock appearing" on the outside as possible.

Excuse the dusty/dirty sled as it was in my shop and in the summer months can get a bit dusty. Its typically not my style but I spent enough time building it, I figured he can shine it up.

Also made up some keyed pro rmk shafts to run some different secondary clutches. Mainly the cat three tower roller.

All is good here!

Somebody has to keep building custom stuff instead of the same ol 800 twin with a wrap and a can calling it a custom built mod!

Are they going to ever have the races in bend anymore? That was always a good turnout!! Would love to go back up to it if they ever have em again!

I don’t know. I’ve been pretty sidelined on the sport since Jan-1 2015, so I am not sure what the deal is with the Bend club. I was considering jumping back in this year so have been lurking around here a bit cruising the classifieds and happened to see your post. Good to hear all is good!

Marty Mac I’m very interested in a plate for a pro! And do you have 1050 w/c triple pipes for the pro? Thanks

I have one plate left. Also I have a set of crank shop pipes that I did for my first build that fit without much modification to the sled itself other than the lower steering post.
