Track tension on the alpha

Hey guys, what are you all running? I thought I had mine tight, installed new sliders and after first ride where the clips run in to the rail or between the sliders it chewed it up somewhat. My dealer said to tighten the track up until the clip tips are just in the rail and should Help.

What's everybody else running their tracks at and how's it working? I found my old sliders wore out at 1800km due to a pressure point just in front of the front bogey wheels on the rail before the anti stab ones.

Making for a de-rail potential right?. I find it semi odd up front the issue just given that they come straight off the drivers so they really shouldn't move much between that and the rails. I also just noticed 2 of clips on the front side of them or the "reverse driven side" if running in reverse was bent and no longer clamped to the track, Very odd. Rest of the clips are all good. I also added more clips to my track to make it mostly fully clipped, the others were fine and again it was on the side that would take load if sled was in reverse.

until you put it on a side hill and the track is"tilted" on the rail then the top of the U could de rail.

I’m hoping the manual is correct, 25lbs and 2”,, that’s what I do, so far no issues.

On the 19s it was 20 lbs at 2 in. They tightened it up this year.

and check it for the first 300 miles as the track will stretch.

Ran mine yesterday again and I didn't seem to find any additional wear occur up front of the sliders again. I believe the tension should be approx 1.5" at 20#, basically with back end in the air, the amount of "sag" visually is that the rubber nubs/guiding clips tops are up a tad with the sliders vs hanging down below them.

The tighter you run it the better it will handle. I can’t comment on longevity though, but tighter than spec is what Myself and other people have come up with after doing lots of testing.

I have 2 rides on my 2020 and about 40 miles. Had to tighten track after each ride as things break in.
I bought the AC track tension tool #7639-153. A bit pricey but makes the job go quick and eliminates guessing. 25 lbs. tension at 2" gap.

I was getting chew marks also at stock specs. Set it tighter and no issues now. Bout 1.5" of sag

I've had good luck still with mine setup so the track rubber nubs just line up with the sliders with no tension on it. Which does supposedly equate to the Recommended 1.5 inches at 20#.
