So how about this. A 120 3" tracked 5 inch rail spaced Riot or a 129 2.5" or 3" tracked 5 inch rail spaced Riot. The 5 inch rail spacing is a good compromise between side hill ability and roll over ease

I still think a 3" 120 is where it's at. The 1.75 to 2.5 was an amazing gain, I don't see why a 2.5 to 3 wouldn't be a good gain as well.?‍♂️ In the elevation, snow, and terrain we ride, the 129 is too much track for the 450. A 120 will go the same, if not more places as the aro 3. I've been flamed every time I say this, but it has been our group's experience.

So this set up gets me. Id love to try it. Thoughts on this eric? I know you mentioned you tried something like it and lost all steering. This guy claims he loves it. Maybe a purpose built skid around this idea is the future?

Yes I tried that but it was a 137. In that kind of snow it worked well but deep snow and steep climbs it was a straight line Sally. What engine is that a 2 stroke? Mine was a 2 stroke and had all the gas in the back and no radiators the front was just too light and rider couldn't get far enough forward. It's a very fine line and when you cross it you have to go back. You can kind of correct the problem with spring preload but then the front gets heavy all the time and there is no neutral bike balance/feel when the CG is off in either direction.

Yes fully locked. no tilt at all. No more track derailments either. To move the track forward you have to shorten the frame sliders between the swingarm bolt and strut mount.
How did you lock out your Mototrax? The lateral articulation is one of their main selling points. Just wondering because I just bought one and don’t have much experience yet.

It was major surgery. I removed the whole knuckle from the back of the swingarm and welded 2 angle brackets to a cross shaft and bolted it to the swingarm. The new mtx 2.5 track does a nice tilt on hard pack by itself no tilt needed on the skid.
