PS 580 largest track size?

I have a 95 580 PS with a 136" X 1.5" track. Does anyone know if you can change it out to a 136" X 2"? I want to stay with the 136" as I do not want to purchase a new suspension or pour a bunch of money into this sled. I just dont know if it will clear the 2" or 1.75" lugs with a factory suspension setup. Please let me know if you have personal experience or vast knowledge with this question.
Thanks,

Shave the front cooler down a bit and it will fit a 2"... 1.75 should fit no problem.

Shave the front cooler down? How do you do this? Any posted vids on this or how steps? Anyone else with input?
Bradburk, thank you by the way.

I used to have a 580 PS. I upgraded the track to a 141 1.75 lug. The 1.75 fits without modifying the cooler or the drivers. I fit the 141 length by relocating the suspension skid 2.5 inches back. Just re-drill suspension mounting holes. I had built a triangle bracket I bolted to the rear skid mounting holes to relocate the rear portion of the skid 2.5 inches back and 2.5 inches down. Made a huge difference on how this sled performed off trail.

powder special 580

my father had a powder special 1995 580 its been a long
time and that sled is gone now he had a 2 inch camoplast
challenger on it and I had 1997 pow special with the same
track . I think the drivers had to be changed to smaller size
to allow for the track to go on and regear in the chaincase to compensate.

Back in the day we all made drop brackets that dropped the skid out of the tunnel further to get more clearance between the snow and the running boards. Driver change would for sure get you your 2"... if it where me I would look for a 1.75 in that 136 or 141 range and change as little as possible otherwise. You can shave the front coolers by taking everything out of the sled, including the drivers and literally shaving the cooler using a grinder, pain, but the 2" was a beast back in the day versus the stock 1.4.

Just purchased a 136" X 1.75" X 15" track. Camoplast Challanger, should be better than the current setup which is the same but missing about 30 lugs. Bought it for $100. Guy originally wanted $225 for it. I think I got a good deal. I pick up next friday, and its only missing 4 lugs. What do you guys think? Good deal or what?

drivers change

All you need is 1 tooth less in your drivers. I believe they came with 9 tooth or 10 tooth drivers drop 1 tooth and its smaller and it will clear. I had a 1995 EXT 580 with a 2" track and that's what I did. Worked very well! The 2" track is the way to go. 1.75 may be a small change but 2" is the stuff!!
