primary spring washers

i have some hardened washers for the primary spring. should i use 1 or 2? top and bottom or ?
i just took the cover off and there is a good amount wear on the spider and cover from the spring. 150 miles, P22

Less is more.
Each washer increases preload on spring and will raise engagement.

Too many and coil bind may occur.

rather than add washers just take the sharp edge off the spring to keep it from digging in. grind it at 45 degrees.
