what did you do to raise the seat?

I used 1x4 boards. Covered it with seat material. It left a large gap between seat and tank. It didnt require any mods to the seat (side pads really need to be cut down) but the new one I just made will move the seat forward only with minor seat mods.

how does that ride?

I would park it if I had to ride it stock again. With the bars up and forward 7" its really ez to go from sitting to standing.
