Need help with elecrical Problem

Have a 06 m-7 and lost spark. Come to find out my tail light wire was torn and the wires were touching. it will spark for a couple pulls and then quit. I have checked every electrical component and everything checks out great. I checked the stator, coil, voltage regulator, stator pick-up, ecu, and unhooked all the hand warmers, kill swith and key, servo motor so on and so on. Just wondering if any one has had this happen? I ordered a new wiring harness, hoping that is the problem. Any info is appreciated.

Find someone to swap ecu's with and see if that helps. Electric short can take the ecu out.

I tried switching the ecu with a buddy with the same sled and that wasn't it. I'm really stumped with this one. Thanks for the idea thouogh
