This Mikuni oil pump for $29.95 is similar to the 2002 oil pumps before they supposedly designed them to run in reverse for the reverse. The Polaris price for a similar new Mikuni oil pump is over $250. With this one, you modify by spinning the hose nozzles with a crescent wrench, to what you want and you swap out the top plate or grind out a groove on the supplied plate in order to pass a hose on the top front of the pump. Since reverse operation generally only lasts a few seconds, whereas the engine will run for quite a while without oil by using the gas to lubricate, the reverse option on the oil pump is not required for typical reverse operation. Buy this on EBAY:

If you go this route, just make sure you are feeding the correct hose to the correct port. Not all ports flow equally.
That's right. The two front ports go to the carburetors and deliver twice as much oil as the two rear ports, that go to the PTO and MAG end bearings. Also when you change oil pumps, you would need to fully charge the pump with oil. So first you install the oil feed line and then loosen the top 10mm bleed bolt to get the air out. Retighten when oil comes out which is pretty quick. Then you twist the drive blade on the back of the oil pump until oil is coming out of all four feeder nozzles. It takes twice as long to get oil out of the two back feeder nozzles. Turn counterclockwise. In order to speed up this last process, I wrap a little electrical or duct tape over that driver blade and tuck the extension of the tape into the end of an electric drill. Then allow the drill to slowly spin in reverse. Once you have oil bubbling out of all four nozzles, you then remove the oil tubes from your old pump and reinstall them to the same nozzle on the new oil pump. This process minimizes air bubbles in the oil lines. The oil pump should add oil to the engine at a 40 parts gas to 1 part oil, which you can check. Which is 1 cup of oil to 2.5 gallons of gasoline.
