Chris,

5-6 PSI gauge.... OR... 19.7-20.7 PSIA MAP ??

If 'gauge' what elevation?

Also... At what altitude does the MPI 850 (standard setup) drop off in supplying a consistent 'target' MAP?

Absolutely no hesitation off the start. Skidoo's new RAVE system makes the bottom end amazing. In the video I was running about 5 to 6 psi.

Sorry for the confusion. I was running 5 to 6 psi at the elevation I was at. According to my data logger I was at 17.0 to 17.3 PSIA.

FYI.....NOT SURE IF MAC KNOWS I POSTED THIS VIDEO.....LOL

So your "4 - 5 lbs" would be a cosistent 2.5 lbs "boost" over Sea Level atmospheric (17.2 PSIA MAP) ...On Pump gas I would assume?

That is a great target to get 190 - 200 hp out of this sled with no hassles IMO.

To me... that is the ideal target for 90% of the turbo riders out there... which is about 50% more power than stock at, say, 9000 ft.

Question for you: Can the EABC be set to keep the MAP level consistent at a level near 17.7 from, say, 2000 ft to 10,000 feet without adjustment... AND... will fueling over that spread be able to keep things right without touching the GEMS unit? (Pull and go flexibility over a range of 8000 feet)

Yes that is possible. We just have to change our base target pressure at sea level. We would just have to up that base by 0.5 psi, (17.7 -14.7 = 3 psi target). This pressure will not be adjustable by the end user. The only way you can change this base pressure on the production kits will be for MPI to reprogram the EBAC. This would give you the pull and go flexibility from sea level up. I have rode at 6600 ft and 9500ft to 10,500ft which out touching the fuel controller.

I think that NOT making the kit user-adjustable will be the KEY to giving the customer the best result in the end and what will make this kit so great for MOST of the Turbo 850 crowd... and keeping customer service calls to a minimum.

If it is calibrated correctly from the factory... there is no reason for the user, on these low boost kits to have access to this... It is my experience that all but the most technically savy generaly take it AWAY from the sweet spot, rather than "finding" it.

Had a LONG conversation with Mac at MPI last night and again this morning.

 Mountain Performance Skidoo 850 Turbo Production Update; January 4, 2017

After several hurdles in late freight deliveries, MPI has announced that they are shipping production SD850 kits this week.

Mac Randolph told me that he is thoroughly impressed and couldn’t be happier with his “new for this model” turbo supplier Billet / MTA from Australia. “As with all international supply, the 1st shipment is always more difficult for freight and customs logistics. The 2nd shipment came off like clockwork.”

Mac said that he had planned on shipping the 1st 100 kits early in December and the 2nd hundred by the New Years. He admits that he underestimated the freight logistics, but that it is all behind him now. He was able to keep the 2nd build of 100 units nearly on schedule. “All the components are here now for 200 kits" (with exception of Production Silicone, which has been in transit from Spain to the US since before Christmas; but says it cleared customs Today and is scheduled to arrive at the plant on Thursday). "We are packaging as fast as we can”, he added.

I asked Mac for some HARD PROOF that the units were actually IN STOCK and ON HAND.
He sent me the following photos to prove he was not blowing smoke....

My biggest concern on this however is the validation of the kit on multiple consumer-sold sleds before these leave the door.

It's great to see Mr. Shover doing R&D-setup with the Dobeck/GEMS boxes/programming used in the kits however.

I'd like to see more on the snow validation process with consumer sleds before the kits leave MPI... keeps the customer from being the 'tester'
.... though I understand chomping at the bit to get your kits !!

Mac sent me a few more photos of the finished kits rolling out of the shop.

I am still in, but it won't be for a couple weeks at BEST.
All 3 of my sleds are in the shop being RE-built as we speak.!

The reason I keep hearing from Mac at MPI is because he keeps calling to remind me my kit is sitting on the floor waiting for me to come and get it in person at his shop.

I think my older son is also going to take the bait and get one.
He really rather liked the turbo MPI sold him for his Nytro a few years ago and wants BOOST back in his life.

If you read the original product information, they were being sold with a mountain silencer or a quiet silencer for an additional $200 I believe. Guessing the big shroud is the quiet version and what you are seeing in the later pics is the mountain (louder) version.
