sled 2022 matryx slash 165 pro. has the 3000’-5000’clutching outlined in the manual.around 50+mph depending on snow conditions it drops rpm from 8300-7700 roughly. it varies depending on what im doing, is this normal? ive tried lighter weights but it didnt change much, would swapping to a black secondary spring help my issue?2C373D20-DC64-4C37-9E80-1F3D2E358432.jpeg

Pretty sure 2022 850s have the same clutch specs as 21s, above 5k. 21 850s just ran heavier weights down low, with the same helix and springs.

The 2022 850 low elevation spec might be a solution looking for a problem - maybe they came up with it for sea level/AK, or a way to squeeze out another accessory/option. While the UP has some deep snow at low elevation, there is so much more power on a NA and any 'hills' are pretty small, meaning clutching isn't that relevant/crucial on a RMK below 3. Lots of track speed down low. I'd guess the high elevation springs and helix would still work well on a 22 with heavier weights down low, just like the 21s.

I'm curious to hear how you're making out on this front, did you make any more progress before season end?

I have a '22 Matryx Slash 155, delivered with the same low elevation clutching. 3000' to 5000' is pretty much exactly what I ride. I don't notice the same correlation of rpm drop with track speed (maybe a 155 vs 165 thing?). Mine would hold 8200-8100 pretty consistently up to about 4000', but certainly drops to ~7700 or less when doing hard pulls up around 5000', regardless of track speed. I replaced both drive and driven springs with higher finish rates, a marginal improvement. I did pick up a shallower helix, but ran out of time to try it. That'll be for this season.
