I'd just bolt in a 155 skid and call it a day. Why extend the tunnel? Or is money no object? A guy here in AK as a 2008 155 skid up for $450
more of an intellectual curiosity than anything... will the 155 skid fit under the 144 tunnel without suckin the snow flap under??

I would trade you my 155 rails for your 144 rails, and the 155 track for your 144..... Just cut your snowflap. There is 4" difference in tunnel length between the 144 and 155...

Bonz,

The cost of a VE or other aftermarket tunnel is around a grand or more. Plus all of the fitment and down time. Plus, most of the time, the 144 would be too hacked from removal to resell.

Buy a stock 155 (or a 163 for that matter) tunnel AND bulkhead already assembled for $1049 US and switch out the components... That will give you a chance to clean everything up, use new rivets on all of the plastic to tighten it up, and build it out well.

The new RAW tunnels are right in there for weight with the aftermarket, the tunnel uses an integrated cooler that is actually part of the tunnel structure.

If you are pumping up the power in the engine... the added cooler length would do you well, especially if you are not running the front-tunnel-cooler like the new 800 Dragons

Sell the 144 raw bulkhead/tunnel to someone on ebay for $800 and call it done. He!!, the SledNecks types would love to take their 800 Dragon to a shorttrack 144" for downhill carving, jumping and tree riding! Thats the sled they didnt make but should have, IMO.

REF 4, ASM-CHASSIS MTN 7 SDI,155,NAT Part number 1015472-309 , $1,049.99
Includes Bulkhead and Tunnel/cooler assembled

holy crap, I didnt realize they were one piece in the back.

Personally, I think a person with a little smarts and help from someone like VE could figure it out...

A grand for the tunnel, plus track, plus suspension, plus time spent. Why wouldn't you update to a 2008 RMK Shift? It is an all black carbed 600 RMK. Link This would give you warrenty and the 5.1 track. Or find a used 07 600 155.
