Inexpensive way to get rid of that under the hood heat (especially M1000)

This seems to evacuate a lot of hot air under the hood and the price is right ($2.50). I just used two rubber bushings (1/2") tall from Ace Hardware and bolted them to the cowling. Leaves a clean looking thin vent for the motor heat to espace from under the hood. While the sled is in motion you can actually feel (with your glove off) the heat coming out from the vent. It doesn't effect the way the hood fits either. Just another idea for those of you looking to reduce the heat!!!!!

The problem with that set up is over time it will bend the coweling down from heat and pulling down and bends the coweling rkt kit works alot better structurely it bolts to the to holes for the steering post.I did the same thing as you did before rkt made his kit.

10 rides on this style and no sign of the coweling bending from heat.....
