Does anyone understand the improved stock class? Must the engine match the chassi or can you run an 700 engine in a IQR chassi and run in the 700 improved stock class? Being the IQR only comes with up to a 600cc.

Here is what the rule states:Sled must be stock appearing and must use stock chassi. Rider may change or alter any of the following:Shocks, skis, tracks, suspensions, hoods, gearing, clutching, carburetion, pipes (must have silencers), chassis, cylinders, pistons and rings. Sled must have a belly pan and clutch guards. All snowmobiles must be naturally aspirated.

Why would you have a improved stock 700 800 and 900 class?
Thanks for your answers and opinions.:face-icon-small-hap

What type of racing?? Hillclimb, snocross, drags, X country?? A lot of those changes can be made, BUT there are some details that are definitely left out depending on what type of racing you are doing. For improved stock the things in bold are usually things u cannot change unless you are replacing it with OEM for the model replacement parts. Alterations for any part is a whole new can o' worms. Best bet is to know all the details in the ISR rulebook and contact someone specifically related to tech issues for whatever circuit you are looking at. Good luck, give us a little more info on what you are doing.

Ok, thanks. Saw your thread in a different section. Busy today but I will get some info tonite out of my ISR book and see if I can help clarify a little more. Sounds like you have a lot of good questions, hopefully you can get them figured out in time to race.

Yes, you can switch engines for hill-x. Pretty much everyone runs the 600 and 800 sno-x mod setups for hill-x. The 1000 class is the only one that's truly open where you could run a hand built chassis, but no one does. The only thing that really gets teched is CC's and fuel...

Does the RMSHA circuit allow for the use of aftermarket rear skids (Holz/EZ Ryde/etc.) in the imp. stock classes? Any feedback is much appreciated. Thank you.

You can revalve your shox but you can only run a stock skid in the improved class. In the open class you can run anything you wont.
